"Thanks! They somehow manage to be simultaneously slim and beefy vs the stock 285's"

I know what you mean, they'll never be 37s but somehow every week or so I catch a glimpse of my Wrangler and I'm amazed at how good the tires look.
There's a certain balance that completes 'the package'.
My Wrangler is a Rubicon without a lift and I was able to run Jeep's Badge of Honor trail Rocky Gap Rd solo without a hitch. <https://www.onxmaps.com/offroad/trails/us/nevada/rocky-gap>

I probably already posted this on her but for those who like pizza cutters on stock wheels BORA (motorsport-tech.com) makes 1" adaptors that work without trimming your lugs..They are made to order and the highest quality and you can talk to the owner....They put your pizza cutters right to the edge of your flairs and make them look even beefier....

I had them on the narrower axle Sahara and they looked great and subtlety poked past the fender. Iirc, the tread was even with the edge of the fender. I installed the same wheel/tire, no Bora 1” spacers, on the Rubicon and just the sidewall itself BARELY sticks past the fender.

I’d think both would be fine by any states’ laws.

Ever since I discovered I have Rubicon brakes on my Sport, I'm more convinced that the 255/85/17 Baja Boss with 1" Bora spacers on stock wheels is the way to go. Other option is 34x10.5r17. Now if only my tires would wear out quicker...

my original tires always wear out in the first 200 miles of ownership.....Believe it or not there is no law or even unwritten rule you can't replace tires whenever you want :).

The problem is my first set already wore out at 200  Still, I'm at 3 years on the current set, might be able to pull the trigger at 4ish without feeling too wasteful.

I am embarrassed to say how many sets of 35's tires I have had :). I have had KO2' several sets of toyos in AT2, AT3 MT and RT, cooper ST Maxx's, duratrac, Wild peak at3w and currently I have two sets of Mickey Thompson's mounted on two different sets of wheels......and no regerts (sic) :)

And even if there was such a law, I'd have broken it without delay or apology after deciding to replace the still-new Kumho Solus tires on the Honda that my wife had just purchased. Those tires set new standards for Craptacular™...in all driving conditions. We pivoted to Michelin and peace was restored.

I wasn't expecting the WRX color scheme to look so good on a Jeep
Thank you, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out!

Only missing a final touch - got myself a set of the TJ Sahara stickers to replace the chrome badge on the sides.

on the down side, the experiment of rattle-canning the wheels was unsuccessful. It looks acceptable from 10ft at best… closer than that and it’s a mess! Thinking through a couple alternatives.

but the best news of all is that she should be driveable for this weekend’s NORA Adventure Club event 🎉

Today on the trail a jeep in front of me with wide 35" tires, lots of poke. He was climbing up onto these rocks. For some reason he seem to be struggling. His driver side rear was digging a hole and it was like he was wedged. He put some rocks in the blooming hole he dug, a few more tries and he made it up. My skinny 33's walked right up with ease.

No punt intended to anyones 35x12.5 tires. I'm reasonably certain that was operator error. Let my widdle jeep have its moment.
