Article linked below - interesting read and pretty impressive for a high schooler.

He’s 18 and Drove This Jeep to 49 States in 64 Days

AJay Bentley hit the road in his 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara after junior year ended

"The trip took 64 days and covered 43,000 miles. I love this Jeep. It is like a second home. It is incredibly reliable, and all I needed to get where I wanted to go was a little willpower."

Article does not even mention the oil change interval and what oil was used. Useless.

Edit: To those who did not get it, this is a joke. It it was not it would have mentioned fuel octane as well.

Average of 671 miles per day. That's impressive! I draw the line at around 400 per day when traveling, my a** hurts just thinking about going almost 700!
I wonder if the 43k miles includes air miles? If not, then it would be even more miles per day.

Good for him. Not all 18 year olds are capable of setting such a big goal and following through, even if they are given resources to do those things. This young man is out doing things and trying to experience the world around him.

As an adult, that sounds like a lot of driving in a short amount of time. I’d prefer to stay and experience things instead of blow through, but I’ll bet this guy now has a good list of things he’d like to go back and see and spend time.

Not sure why some of you are throwing shade at the kid. I love his sense of adventure. Perhaps you didn’t have the money or parents support to go on such a trip at that age. But many do AND HE DID IT!
Instead of being so salty because you didn’t have the opportunity, or more accurately, no motivation, let’s celebrate it.
