Fantastic !!!! So happy it was there and not stolen or misplaced by some monkey at the dealership! I can't tell you how many tools I have misplaced over the years and thought bad things happened to them.
Lets face we are all humans and sometimes unexplained sh!t happens.

Just glad you not out a bunch of bucks! Hopefully Tazer will take the new unit back.
Thank you! I bought it on Amazon and already dropped it off at the UPS Store. They are pretty good at refunds.

I am officially a dumbass, and I await my forum browbeating. I ordered my new Tazer. I updated my new Tazer. I took off my kick-panel to install my new Tazer; I reached up behind the dash, trying to feel for my SGW connectors, when I wrapped my paw around... my Tazer.

Yeap...

Earlier this week, I did not take off my kick panel. With my little headlamp on, I wedged precariously into the driver's floorboard and saw two dangling unplugged connectors. Like an idiot, I jumped to conclusions and ran as fast as my little feet could shuffle to my computer. Typing with my little hands as furiously as I could, I let out a warning as if I were Paul Revere to let everyone know I had been victimized by gremlins.

Yeah...

I am a dumbass. I await my deserved cudgeling.

Never cudgel a man who admits his mistake... unless that mistake is worth the cudgel... or you're bored and have nothing better to do. Neither is applicable here. Glad you "found" it!

Fun ones!
There was a split second where I thought if I didn't say anything, no one outside of myself would know, but then I couldn't because omission is still a lie. I'm a dipshit, and a bastard, and a whole lot of other bad shit, but I do my best not to lie. I mean, if you are on your deathbed, I might white lie to you to make your passing easier. You know what I mean.
Where does forgetful fall on this list?

LOL I can't say how many times I've made far dumber rookie mistakes on something that I have literal worldwide renown as being one of the leading experts. This isn't intended as a brag, but an illustration of don't sweat it because it happens to us all no matter how good we are. Almost all of you are human after all.

I am curious to what you found hanging though - did the techs reconnect the SGW? This had me curious because in my experience if nothing is connected to those cables, then your dash etc won't work. If I don't have my kiwi connected to my 12+8 bypass, my jeep is simply apoplectic (I was going to put something inapropriate in here, but decided against it because my views are different from many of the more vocal people here).

Somewhere is the middle. I have a razor sharp mind when I feel like it. Most of the time I don't feel like it. 🤪

This, Sir, is what I thought was my SGW cable. Had I just taken a few minutes and done some proper research, I wouldn’t have wasted almost a week and embarrassed myself at the same time. I still need to look up that plug because I am curious about it.

Wait, we're allowed to admit that we all make mistakes??? Fortunately you're not some here that double down when those are pointed out. Glad you figured it out!

Just went and double-checked, so I am 95% sure that's the connector for a trailer brake controller - assuming you have the tow package. You can get a Tekonsha harness that plugs directly into that for any brake controller to be able to use trailers with brakes.

I do have the towing package. That is good to know; thank you!

Normally I would do a "no shit" and run out to my Jeep to check, but I have had my Jeep almost wholly torn apart lately doing upgrades and maintenance, along with a deep cleaning. I just recently pulled my carpet out and replaced it with Armorlite, so it is a no-stone left unturned situation. I wish you were right, though. I would be willing to feel like a dumbass to save repurchasing it.

Any reason in particular you kept the wiring harness trim on?

Funny you mention that. I saw something earlier while poking through the wiring diagrams, they listed it as a...

I just thought it was interesting because it specifically says "AFTERMARKET"! Which would indicate, you install it later! 🤔
