I have a short list of campers/RTT's that I think would meet my needs, and Go Fast Campers has been on that list. As such, I was surprised today when I received an email notification that effectively said that I was no longer their customer/potential customer - and neither is any Jeep owner, until a fully EV model is available.

I don't recall the last time I've received anything from a company that expressed such distain for its legacy and potential customers. Interesting approach. The massive strategy shift aside, why would you communicate in this tone? Will have to wait and see how it works for them.

Anyway - consider this a PSA for anyone else that is also keeping their eye on the camping/overlanding market. Unless you are all in on EV, you are not their customer.

Subject: Moving to ALL-ELECTRIC Vehicle Campers ?⚑?
From now on we are committed to manufacturing ultralight campers for electric vehicles and removing all 250+ internal combustion trucks it's campers are compatible with from the website. ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏  ͏
Effective immediately, GoFastCampers will now only manufacture ultralight campers for electric vehicles.
β€œEver since ad agency Ogilvy and Mather invented the personal carbon footprint in 2004, to shift blame for climate change away from British Petroleum, everyday consumers have expressed runaway enthusiasm for ditching internal combustion vehicles,” explains GFC CEO Graeme MacPherson.
β€œThere’s now so little demand for gas guzzling trucks that it just no longer makes sense for us to make campers for them.”
EV IS THE FUTURE
GFC has responded to this overwhelming shift in consumer behavior by removing all 250 plus internal combustion trucks its campers are compatible with from its website, and changing its logo to include a carefully workshopped lightning bolt symbol. Starting today, GFC will only make campers for zero emissions trucks like the GMC Hummer EV, Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, and Tesla Cybertruck. Weighing only about 275 pounds (depending on exact bed dimensions), and adding less than eight inches of additional height, the now-green GFC Platform Camper only reduces range on these vehicles by approximately six to seven percent at highway speeds.
In a further sign of commitment to our nation’s green energy transition, GFC has initiated a voluntary return program, in which existing customers ashamed of their heavily-polluting pickup trucks and SUVs will be asked to return their campers and rooftop tents to the company, where they’ll be melted down and turned into raw materials that will be donated to the federal government’s efforts to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

LOL That's a good enough April Fool's to have gotten you.

Sadly, they're probably not too far off with their quote.

I don’t know, I honestly would not be surprised to see that stance.

Perhaps it's the paradox in plain sight:

Because such virtue signaling is something occurring in these modern times, the probability of believing it when used as an April 1st gag is measurably higher than if the effort was plainly transparent.
