NOTHING unusual. Many businesses have an account where things like this are deposited, its flow thru money. What the dealer wants to do is keep for 30 days ore more if possible. WHY? 30 day money gets credited with %. Dealer could have 100k in flow thru and gets $1000 bucks credited to the account every 30 days.I thought I would share my recent ongoing issue with my local dealer. In Early FEB I sold my previous JL and cancelled my extended warranty. This allowed me to get a refund of 3k dollars. On March 8 I called the dealer asking if my refund had showed up. They told me it could take 8-9 weeks for them to receive the refund. So Friday I decided to call the company who the extended warranty was purchased through and ask for an explanation why the refund process is so long. They informed me the refund was issued to the dealership on March 4. I go visit the dealership that day but say nothing about talking to the insurance company before i hear what they have to say. Again I get the 8-9 week excuse and that's when i tell them i had already spoke with the insurance company and knew what date they issued the refund to them. He starts trying to make more excuses and now it's clear to me this guy has no idea what's going on and he is the finance manager. So i'm suppose the hear from him next week. We'll see what he says. So, why be so dishonest about something that their customer can verify so Easly? I highly doubt I will ever use this dealer again because I don't feel their trustworthy.
Letter from a lawyer to claim the refund including interest or small claims court! And mention the dealers name. This should get some answers quickly!Unfortunately, the same thing happened to me. The insurance company promised that the dealer would refund the money to my car loan account within 45 days, but I have been waiting for half a year and still haven't received it. I don't know what to do. Been to the dealership many times. They were always pushing and pushing.
But why does refund have to go to the dealership first? You bought it and it’s under yr name so why can’t the company send u the refund ? Dont get frustrated and forget about it they do that so u give up. Hire a lawyer the 500 bucks it will cost for a letter is worth it compared to the dealers gamesI thought I would share my recent ongoing issue with my local dealer. Why would you search for a lemon law attorney when you don't have a lemon law case?I searched for lemon law attorneys, but they only accept repair related issues, not contract issues.

Small claims court is a great place to recover this. First go to the dealership, and get as many people in management involved by asking to speak to them. Elevate it, etc. Get their names. File the small claims case and name all of them as witnesses. When they are served the summons, with all those names, they'll settle it. Nobody wants to go to court, let alone half the staff.I am in California. I will ask again tomorrow and come back to you if there is no result.
True, but maybe an hour investment in a letter would work! I'd sue them myself. Once they get served, a check would be in his hands. Add interest, and time off work to attended to the matter!Lawyers are not free.
If you want compensation above the debt, you gotta go to Superior Court. That means lawyers and more cost to you. They'd just send you the check for the debt owed, once they are served, then your case is just based on them delaying payment.
