What do you mean calibrated? I did not realize there was any different calibration to worry about.
I already have one failed sensor on my JT and am using the z automotive bypass. I need to pott the other sEnsor in my JT and both on my wife’s JL.
Can’t say I know why, but apparently not all of the sensors are the same and some won’t work. That’s why they give you 5. I think I saw on another thread a guy said 4 of the 5 he got worked.

Can’t say I know why, but apparently not all of the sensors are the same and some won’t work. That’s why they give you 5. I think I saw on another thread a guy said 4 of the 5 he got worked.
I made a big mess when I did this, I'm not sure you can fill all 5.
It's a tedious process, I would figure out which 2 work and save yourself the hassle. You don't need to fill or put the cover on to check them.

Anyone ever try the newer sensor on an older locker? Newer meaning the one that is apparently sealed.

Is there any way to know from the dash, whether it is the front or rear sensor that has failed.......or Both?

Just an update:
Potted my sensors on my 2020 JL in February 2021 at 9k miles, shout out for this fantastic write up. On my way home from ice fishing in MN this past weekend, my rear locker dash light turned on randomly. My JL now has 35k on it. When I potted this sensor, it did have some oil in it, but not much. Not sure if oil has worked it's way back in or what. Will be looking at my options for the next step to fix this issue.

Check the harness. If you want a Zauto locker bypass I will give you a good deal. (Real one not a China knock-off).

Wanted to add my struggles with the rear sensor in case it may help anyone here. I swapped to AEV diff covers at around 15k miles and put Amsoil 75w-140 in the rear when I did.

My sensor started acting up around 40k miles. I don't tow and rarely use the lockers. The "service locker system" warning light only comes on when I accelerate from a stop, stays on for exactly 4 seconds, then goes away. It comes on much more frequently when the outdoor temp is 50 degrees or above. It has never deviated from this pattern.

I replaced the sensor about two weeks ago. It was about half full of oil. Odd thing was when I pulled the sensor, I started the Jeep with no sensor and there was no "service locker system" warning light at all. Put in the new potted sensor, buttoned it up, then the warning light came on again a few days later (when the weather warmed up).

I then checked the electrical plug on the exterior of the diff, and while there wasn't much, there was oil in it. Plus, when I unplugged it, then the warning light came on and stayed on. Cleaned it throughly with contact cleaner, light came back on the next day, same 4 second intervals.

Last night I took the cover back off, removed the locker sensor connector on the exterior, removed the sensor and cleaned every electrical plug and connector with contact cleaner and filled each one with dielectric grease.

Through process of elimination, I found my problem was oil in either the plug that goes directly into the sensor (plug itself was saturated with oil) or the plug that goes into the interior of the locker sensor connector (also covered in oil).

Hopefully the dielectric grease will help keep the oil out of the connections. Fingers crossed.

So after all the crap I've gone through with my rear sensor, it appears my problem may actually have been the front sensor's exterior wiring harness. Despite everything I did discussed in my earlier post above, my warning light popped up everyday after that like it didn't miss a beat.

Wednesday night, I crawled under the front and kind of inspected the front wire. Moved it around, tried to peel back the sheathing in a few places, made sure the plug into the diff was fully seated, basically looking for any obvious damage or areas of concern. Everything looked fine.

Well it appears whatever I did to the wire somehow may have fixed my issue. My warning light had come on every day for the last 2 weeks or so in the same pattern it always has, but it has not come back once since I got done fiddling with the front wire two days ago.

Does anyone know if there are noted or common areas of concern with these wire harnesses? I know an earlier thread talked about the factory "zip tie" things being way too tight and damaging the wire, but most other wire problems involved the wire being overstretched from not disconnecting it when installing a lift or something similar.

Right now I'm just enjoying a few warning light free days, but if it pops up again I guess I'll fully remove the sheath and check the actual wires themselves.
