The seat belts are tied to the SRS safety system, there are deploy sensors in the retraction unit itself. Removing it will set permanent fault.Hello,
No, l am changing the color to pink. I tried to pry off, but getting tired of replacing trim pieces.
Thought there was a company that you could ship the unit to and they would then cut out and securely restitch in a different color. Pretty sure I've seen someone here do there's in red that way.The seat belts are tied to the SRS safety system, there are deploy sensors in the retraction unit itself. I am removing passenger seat belt, l have everything off but there is a plastic clip behind the trim. How do l get it off?
If you're talking about the big milky white clip in the B pillar, that part cannot be sourced without buying the entire shoulder harness with the retraction cartridge. Good luck removing it.Hello,

If entire replacement units are purchased and the positive and negative battery terminals are disconnected prior to disconnecting the seat belt electrical connections how will a fault code occur? The seat belts are tied to the SRS safety system, there are deploy sensors in the retraction unit itself. Having worked with euro airbag system design and seatbelt technology on charges for pre-tensioners, I’d personally say hell no to that company and or their rebuilding program. If entire replacement units are purchased and the positive and negative battery terminals are disconnected prior to disconnecting the seat belt electrical connections how will a fault code occur?
I’m totally ignorant on the subject but I see YouTube videos showing a successful swap, and we all know everything on YouTube is true. Not disputing your knowledge just asking for my own education.
That's on permanently locked seat belt tensioners that should be replaced. After reading about the process of replacing just the webbing for a functional retractor, I really don't see what the problem would be..Having worked with euro airbag system design and seatbelt technology on charges for pre-tensioners, I’d personally say hell no to that company and or their rebuilding program.
Im sure they’ve served 1000’s of clients but yeah, it’s a no for me. Seatbelts are designed to function once only and then the whole unit destroyed never to see another day. NEVER REBUILT!!!!
It’s just me, just my personal bias after coming from that industry for so many years. 85% of the world will never have the visual and understanding of the micro complexity of safety systems that I saw. It’s all good. Like I had said I’m sure they have had hundreds if not thousands of people purchasing that type of stuff. That's on permanently locked seat belt tensioners that should be replaced.
