Well you could justify anything , why do you needs brakes ? It has bumpers. Why do you need air conditioning ? it has no top. Why do you need an alarm ? you have Insurance. When it rains you get wet, why would you think you would be dry in your new Jeep ? because It’s a Jeep thing.

Found this on youtube when looking for other JL issues.

Nice, matching nails.
That’s a great video, that lady should work for jeep. And people here are telling us that there’s no way to fix that ? and that it’s a Jeep thing , BS !
That will be fixed in the future.

I've only had this happen once, and it was when I was parked on an angle. Seems like a bead of silicone to block the end of the gutter, forcing the water to drain towards the rear, would be a simple 5min solution.
Has no one done this? I will when I pick mine up.

Don’t think the bead of silicone will fix this especially if the rain is still coming down. May be a fix for residual water left in the gutter after the rain is stopped.

The bead will act as a dam for the most part, but as it continues to rain and water collects in the gutter it will overcome the bead and/or just start dripping off the side of the rain gutter.

There really needs to be a separate internal/external path for the water to continue to drain from that point on the rain gutter to the somewhere else besides the inside of the cabin.

Another fix is just remember to park on a slight incline when it’s raining so the water will drain to the rear.

1. Jeep wants you to be at one with nature. That means getting wet when it’s raining.

2. This is why Jeep designed the drain valves in the all weather floor mats.

3. Doesn’t the JK have the same problem?

4. Hard to believe Jeep engineers did not fix this for JL.

The Germans would have designed a motorized gutter extension that would be activated when the door is opened.

My brother did not have a top for his CJ back in the day, he drove faster and I learned to be water proof if going anywhere with him lol

One of the biggest issues I have is at this price point, most drivers need the vechile for a dual purpose a daily driver and weekend off roader. Yes I do expect more when I pay more. Again there are lots of other convertables out there that don't have this problem, it is not new nor unfixable. Things like rougher ride more wind noise and so many more replaced windshields than standard Truck/SUV those are Jeep things. (Those items that are natrual trade offs to have such a capable stock vehicle.)

It's just in the design of the gutter... I used black silicone sealant.
Just squirt a pea size amount of the sealant at the end of the gutter... then use an ice cube to form it to the way you want it to appear... The ice cube trick is a good one to keep in your memory bank, eliminates the messy finger.

Works for the caulk around the bath tub too...

Water goes to the back of the channel. Water does not drip in from the front any longer. The picture looks like the black sealant is lighter, however that was in full sunlight. It blends right in. If you don't like it you can peal it away. Easy fix. Do we know if there is a drain at the rear of the car as well? Or doesn’t that gutter only drain at the front.

Read the post above yours, it drains to the back.
