Not a great shot its still dirty from the beach trip. It is a significant upgrade and less heat! Before it was uncomfortable barefoot with just factory all weather mats and no carpet. I wish I had your tan interior unfortunately not an option in 18.

I appreciate the shot, I have been on the fence on this decision for a while. There is a lot of black interior components I felt would just not look right with this flooring even though my leather is tan. I am definitely glad they offered the tan interior option, you could always do Katzkin!

Mine is at 125k on the Jeep but just 65k on the engine replaced by Jeep so it's going to stick around awhile. Katzkin is definitely happening in the future.

It’s $664.34. Here’s the AllMoparParts link. It’s Part# 82216498AC
Forgive my ignorance, but apart from price, what’s the difference between Mopar and Amorlite? What swayed your decision to order Mopar and wait a month over ordering from Armorlite?

I’m waiting for Armorlite to release their cargo carpet delete before I pull the trigger.

Mopar floor is the Armorlite floor, Armorlite made it for Mopar, sometimes you can get a better deal buying from a Mopar rep.

This was the reason.

both noise and heat are reduced noticeably with the armorlite/mopar flooring. It was my first upgrade on our rubicon. can't wait for the rear cargo section to be released.
Yes much less radiant heat.

I installed the Mopar Heavy Duty Vinyl Flooring. Benny from @AllMoparParts.com helped me out a ton with ordering. I can’t recommend him more.

Unfortunately, Jeep engineering is still working on drafting the installation instruction so until that happens, there are none.

Good news, though, is that this is basically the Armorlite flooring. So, you can use the Armorlite YouTube video and install instructions to guide you.

Install is straightforward. It does take time to remove all of the door panels. In addition, you have to do some finagling wto get the drain hole cutout to line up with the drain holes in the floor.

Afyer you take out the carpet, you’ll see how much dirt and debris gets caught under the carpet. Before installing the new flooring, I vacuumed and washed the floorboard.

Other than that, not much else to say. They are a huge upgrade from the all weather floor mats my JLU came with. The new flooring also comes with sound deadening insulation underneath which is an upgrade over the carpet which has little to none.
Approximately how long did it take you?
Is it a job for just one person, or would it be helpful to have a helper?
Did you need any special tools, or were there tools (besides what's needed to remove the seats, etc) that would have made it easier?
Any tips/tricks you picked up that you wish you'd known before you started?
If you were doing this again, would you do it yourself or just pay a shop to do it?

  1. This took me about 4 hours. However, after I removed the carpet, I did clean and vacuum everything. You would be shocked how much debris gets under the carpet even if you regularly vacuum your JL/U
  2. A helper always well, helps haha. However, you can totally do this job by yourself. The biggest thing a helper could assist you in is lining up the flooring to the drain holes
  3. You need a trim removal tool, 10mm socket, T50 Torx headbit, and 16 mm socket. All of these are easily available on Amazon, Harbor Freight, or any local auto parts store. Other than that, no other special tools I can think of.
  4. Before installing, I read somewhere to put the flooring in the sun so it stretches. That was good advice. Just like the soft top when ordered, it needs heat to stretch out. When moving the front seats around to get the back flooring lined up, you do have to be careful the seat brackets don't get pushed into the console and scratch the plastic.
  5. I would absolutely do this myself. Of the projects I've done so far (Mopar Aux install, Clayton lift, lighting), this is one where I felt completely comfortable doing myself
I should note, the Mopar kit comes with replacement botls for the seats. You can use the replacement ones or just use the ones you removed. Either way, you end up with some extra bolts.

If you have any questions, or need anything to get comfortable doing this, messgae me. I have no clue what a shop would charge, but this is a project where you will be just fine doing it on your own.

@Steel24 super helpful, thank you! Glad I asked - I had it in my head that this would be like, a whole weekend install, so glad to hear it's pretty easy.

I'm curious to see how the cargo instructions look. Surely it can't be more than ~2hrs though - 6hrs for the whole kit is pretty awesome.

The cargo area should be relatively straightforward. There may be more dirt and debris in that area so if you're gonna clean after removal you may have more time spent with that.

Mine went fairly quick.. 2-3 hrs between all the honey do's and ADDness granted the carpet was already out and floor clean. Hardest part was cup holders I added from the non leather package.
