I’m curious how the car seats gonna fit I have 2 one rear facing. Hope there enough room
I have a rear facing seat for an infant in my JLU Sahara. There is plenty of room. Doesn’t work well in the middle seat, but is great on either side.

2020 2dr Sport S - Ordered
Just got my Firecracker Red JL Sport S on Saturday and got my first mods today. Got Rubicon wheels and tires, a stubby antenna, and the black Jeep fuel filler door!
Sounds nice! Post up a picture. I'm thinking of ordering a Red 2dr Sport S one of these days.

So do the sliders fit underneath the stock rails? I'm assuming that's a Rubicon? Looking for options, and my Sport S didn't come with rails. Wondering if the look will be off with sliders and no rails too.
The fit under the stock rubi rails, mine touch if I recall but no creaking or anything, just make sure you do it on flat ground and one side at a time and have a big breaker bar ready, one bolt on each side was tough for me. Red loctite like stuck

The mods look amazing! I am really loving the sliders and third round light! I am not brave enough yet to attempt the winch plate and winch. Baby steps....stubby antenna, sliders, grab bars, tailgate protective decal so far. ACE sliders on order.
Thanks again, 'bell. I ordered a set of two just now. Arriving Friday.
You’ll be happy you did. After beIng on the freeway the last couple of days I can tell you those straps holding the soft top in place are one of the best things i have done. The top is down low like my JK and doesn’t budge an inch.

Posted this in the lighting section and not much activity over there.

Anyone install any lighting on the standard rubicon bumper(plastic)?

Trying to get some mount ideas for a light bar.

You must really love the new jeep driving it that much. I can't imagine how much you must have spent in gas over the last 4 months :)

Been thinking about dipping or painting the keyholes as well. But concerned about function after. Any issues you experienced? Have you tried the key since dipping them? Thanks

This is helpful to see, I’ve been planing this type of lift as well but only reached the point of cleaning/emptying my garage so far lol. Next I need to make a hatch to access the space above as my ceiling is finished. Any recommendations or tips you can share?
Check out this link because it was the inspiration for my build and there are good instructions here: http://www.gregwessels.com/2015/06/01/jeep-lift.html
I didn't mount mine the same way but I used mostly the same materials he listed. I also built my system before some of the JL compatible systems were available so I bought everything separately (e.g., pulleys, cable, etc.). It would have been easier if I waited and bought one of those systems, such as the Lange Hoist-A-Top, then replaced the hand crank with the hoist I bought and would have been done. I ended up slightly over $350 when I was done with my build from scratch.

Some tips for the install...
  • After positioning my Jeep in the garage where I wanted to have the hoist installed I took a picture of the location in the backup camera. I then painted a couple of small markings on the floor where the red guidelines lined up so that whenever I back into the garage to take the top off I am parked directly below where I installed the hoist.
  • I used recessed lighting trim in the ceiling so that it would look nice from below. I didn't buy/install the housing for the trim pieces but rather installed a couple of 2x4's between the joists on each side of my hole and screwed the trim piece to the 2x4's from below. I also mounted fairleads to the 2x4's above the trim pieces so that if there was ever any movement from side to side on the load then the fairlead would take the stress and not the trim piece or the drywall. There is a picture below of this setup. I just happened to buy fairleads that were not quite wide enough to fit the chain so I had to remove one of the rollers.
  • I also bought an electric hoist that didn't have long enough cable for the controller and the hoist was not compatible with wireless remote controls. I just spliced into the cable to add 20' to run it into the garage. This probably voided the warranty but for a $125 hoist I would just buy another one if I have issues with it. It has worked just fine with the extended cable so I am not too worried. I could have done some more research and probably spent a little more money on a different hoist to avoid that.
That is all I can think of for now but if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Finally received and installed my Rock Hard 4x4 sliders. Happy with them overall. Some comments below...

The good...

- They look very nice. These don't leave ugly exposed pinch seams, and they have a very durable-looking powder coat applied. They also have the bars protruding directly from the body of the sliders mounted to the pinch seam, adding a little bit of clearance versus some other styles, which protrude from under the seam.

- They have a total of 12 attachment points on each side (6 pinch seam, 3 body bolts as used by factory steps/rails, and 3 additional larger body-to-frame mounting bolts).

- They feel very sturdy and over-engineered. Going purely by feel, the factory Rubicon Rails seem weak in comparison.

- Good, solid welds. Though I'm no weld scientist.

The bad...

- Fitment was a slight issue. In their defense, they warn that one might have to bore out some of the pinch seam holes. I absolutely HAD to for the frontmost and rearmost holes on both sides (slightly). I measured and noticed that the studs for these weren't actually dead center. Not the biggest deal. Once bored out, everything slid right on and bolted right up.

- They don't follow the curve of the side of the vehicle. This means that the portion against the pinch seams protrude slightly both front and rear. This is barely noticeable.

- Two of the pinch seam studs were bent slightly, preventing them from properly inserting (you could visibly see they were at an angle, as well). I had to grab a locking wrench and pull them straight.

- Shipping took a long time. I ordered through an authorized dealer who told me that they would be shipped directly from Rock Hard in 5-7 days (per RH). It took three weeks and a few follow-ups before they finally shipped them out. In the end, I had to request a cancellation, the dealer contacted RH, and magically they were picked up by FedEx a couple hours later. I find this kind of thing incredibly annoying. At least everything was well-packaged and protected, and they arrived within a few business days (cross-country) after being picked up by FedEx.

- No instructions included, though it's fairly self-explanatory once you get under the car. Also available on the website, though they aren't the most comprehensive.
