Just curious...why do you want a diff cover?

The stock axles already have fill AND drain plugs, which is very nice. And as far as fluid temps go...additional fluid doesn't cool an axle. It just makes it take a little longer for the fluid to reach max temp, and a little longer for it to cool off afterward.

Now, an inexpensive skid plate to protect the stock cover from rock damage, I can see that being a nice thing for guys who crawl rocks a lot. But I don't see any advantage to an overpriced aftermarket diff. cover.

The purpose is because they oem covers are stamped steel they can bend up on the lips and sent and even be penetrated by sharp objects, and damage the ring gear of differential, So then you’d be screwed on a trail! After market ones are thicker and likely you’d never hurt it or what it’s protecting.

You lose some clearance with skids as well. A good set of nodular diff covers will save your bacon when crawling on rocks. Is the diff a different shape than the previous Dana 44's? JK covers won't fit?

Yes this new gen 3 advantek Dana 44 is different. Motobilt, afe, and the other company who is a vendor on here are the only ones I know of who make them so far.

Just perused the Spicer brochure. Ring gear is smaller but the pinion is much larger. Stands to reason the housing will be different. $150 for the Spicer front cover, sheeze!
