Hi everyone,

Does anyone have a recommendation for an under-seat lockbox for the 2022 JLU model? I am looking for some "summer storage" when I take the top and doors off.

I’m pretty sure there isn’t one. I’m guessing because there is wiring under the seats and there are HVAC vents under both seats.

Unless I missed something in my search, there aren't any bolt-in locking drawers for the JL-generation Wrangler. The undersides of the front seats have irregular protrusions and HVAC ducting, both of which prevent fitting a security drawer of any size (as was possible with the JK-era Jeeps.)

There are two similar alternatives, both of which I've used: a locking console safe, and a pistol box.

Thanks. I will take a look at the console safe. I just want something lockable for the summer days when the top and doors are off, and I might need to store something.

I had the under seat lockable drawers in my JK, but haven't found any for the JL. I put the Tuffy console safe in and it works fine. I also paid a little extra to upgrade from the key lock to a combo lock.

@kevinkidder does your item not fit in the center console? There’s a lock built into it (similar to your glove box lock). It’s obviously not the most secure, but would deter idiots who didn’t know the center console could be opened.

I will look again, but I am 99% sure neither my center console nor the glove box have a lock on them.

If my Sport has both locks, your Willys surely does.

Apparently, I'm a blind idiot. I just went out to look and lo' and behold, I have locks on both the console and the glove box. Not only did I not notice that before, but I swear I specifically looked for the locks and didn't find them.

In other words, thank you all for sending over the "locksmith gnomes" in the middle of the night to install these for me.

Also, don’t feel bad for not noticing the center console one. I discovered it by accident and you’re definitely not the only person I’ve come across that didn’t know about it.

I have a new 2022 JLU Willys, knew about the glovebox lock, but didn't know about the console lock. For me it's a "hidden feature" lol. Thanks.

Another hidden feature:
Raise the center console lid to expose the upper storage compartment. With a careful tug at the bottom, remove the plastic trim that is clipped to the underside of the console lid. You've now exposed a reasonably safe place to stash a bit of paper currency for emergency gas expenses, etc.

Also, your rear cubby is locked if the jeep is locked.

Could you use the storage area In the back? - once the back door is shut and vehicle is locked, the cover over the back storage area can’t be lifted up. Or, maybe even add a rear storage vault.
