So I go to my local jeep shop asking about the price for the installation of a mopar 2" lift for my JLURXR... and he gives me a quote but then he asks why I want the mopar lift...
I tell him just to keep it all original mopar and ask why the question.
He tells me that he takes out those suspensions like 1 or two a month from customers not very satisfied, then he tells me why not go with the AEV 2.5" lift. He points at his jeep tells me that's what he runs and he never has customers that are not satisfied with the AEV...
I'm not sure if he was just trying to sell me on the AEV or people really like that better...
Anybody with experience on both of these lifts? Can you sell me on one or the other

I’d ask him how much to install one of the many used MOPAR lifts he has laying around and save a few bucks ???

Have heard good things about both and most who go with the MOPAR lift are doing it to stay in warranty from what I’ve read.

I haven't had an AEV lift but installed my Mopar on my Rubi and its great, drives like stock on the roads with 35's, although a bit softer, and great on the trails. Not sure what I would be missing out on with a different brand to be honest. And the Mopar 2inch lift is more like 3 in my application.

What did he quote you, I hear all kinds of numbers on these forums. Some people say 500, but I would bet 95% of people would be laughed out of a service shop requesting that.

Off-road articulation travel is what other brands have to offer, among other things.

Aev is a good lift. If only they could lower their spring rate and tune those bilstien 5100s a bit softer.. when unloaded and running empty it will feel very stiff as if it's going to rattle out some bolts. Mopar is a softer riding lift overall

Thanks for the response.. currently I haven't added any weight yet...putting rock slide engineering steps next week and some under armor hopefully it will be enough to make the ride nicer..

@Affroe What did you end up doing? It sounds to me like he is an AEV dealer and looking to make some money on the lift. A big selling point for the Mopar lift is keeping the warranty in tact.

Regardless, I have the AEV 2.5 and love it. I did it myself with a friend. Neither of us are grease monkeys, but we got it done.

Do you have steel front and rear bumpers? Hardtop? Load C tires? If so you should have enough weight for a decent ride with the AEV lift.

If you folks are still considering other lifts, please do consider these two for stellar ride quality.

Synergy 2" starter lift + Fox 2.0 Shocks
Pros:
- Very comfortable/plush ride - like stock Sahara
Cons:
- Lower spring rate, almost stock like so it will sag under extreme overlanding load

Clayton Offroad 1.5" or 2.5" Ride height lift + Fox 2.0 Shocks
Pros:
- Moderately high spring rate, doesn't sag on overlanding load
Cons:
- Stock rubicon like ride (Stiff springs, firm ride but soaks bumps well if you use FOX 2.0 shocks. )

You’re correct. They assume you Jeep is 6k+lbs.
