I believe the consensus is it’s a crash bar. It’s supposed to help prevent the wheel from entering the cabin in a collision.

Should be bolted on and removable. The Broncos have something similar, but people remove them all the time to fit bigger tires.

It is bolted and welded. Three 18mm bolts holding to a bracket inside the frame then two more behind the slider. Only noticed the weld after I couldn't get it off after the bolts we removed. You can see the vertical weld behind the hole holding the bracket to the frame. I didn't plan on getting the grinder out on this jeep just yet...

I asked the guy who installed my RSE rock sliders last week if mine were welded on and he said no, he just took out the bolts.

JLURD built May 17th if that matters.

Lol, would almost function as a mudflap, but not quite wide enough coverage I think.

So, beside slider fitment issues, is this also going to cause fitment problems with front mudflaps as well? Kinda hard to see, but it looks like it's blocking the usual mounting location.

I would rather roll over than hit that unmovable object and stop. Jeep roll cage is a real thing that works.

I believe you are correct. My 2021 does not have it.

I can help you out here. Those brackets are for your display case mounts. So if you’d like to put your Jeep in a giant glass case or mount it to a wall, Stellantis has thoughtfully provided the pre installed brackets. It’s plug and play. The Dutch think of everything.

European vehicles require them so i too wonder how that problem is resolved over there if it is one.
Also to me it seems like something might catch on that in an offroading situation. Create problems
