Hey, we were edging the side of a large water hole and hit a rock due to bad placement of tires.

Do you guys think any serious damage happened or anything to be concerned of?

It's all dry to the touch for the trail rash is.

Although did have to screw back on the stock plastic guard under the front bumper it popped the guard around the washers when reversing.

Is that considered trail "damage" these days? :)

On a serious note, OP, it' is totally fine. The seals on the JL diffs are actually quite good and sturdy. That rock smash is nothing to be concerned about. Even if it had pealed the diff cover back a bit, you can just hammer it back.

As it is, just clean it and spray with black Rustoleum and you are good for the next adventure.

Rustoleum is good. Don’t use the spray paint though, it’s messy and overspray never looks good. Buy it in a can. Pour some in a cup, cut it with 10% mineral spirits then brush it on. It will self level and the brush marks will go away, not that it matters where that is. Don’t use a good house paint brush unless you were about to get rid of it anyway.
