Just wondering if anyone has any experience with Nitro Helix torsen differentials. I am looking at this link:
https://www.nitro-gear.com/Nitro-Helix-LSD-M220-p/tors-m220.htm
I was waiting for Eaton to come up with the diff like that one but Eaton 917A736 is still not available though the part number is almost a year old.
I have 2018 Sahara with M220 diff and LSD option.

Interesting find. you should suggest this on the thread about ppl waiting for Eaton TruTrac helical gear LSD. Is Nitro a good gear company? Haven't heard about them before - usually hear Dana Spicer and Yukon

Nitro is much higher quality than Yukon.

Have you used Nitro products? I am really interested in some feedback. The other thing is that from their Facebook page it seems like delivery times are 4-6 months. So I am not sure about this.

Really interesting, and something I would heavily look into (for my needs) once my 2022 emerges from the cosmic dust in Toledo.

Not a lot about long-term performance, but an otherwise interesting writeup by some overlanders in a Toyota pickup:
https://expeditionportal.com/you-do...ont-nitro-helical-worm-gear-lsd-installation/

The company's web site says they are in Cashmere, Washington.
Yeah I saw this article but this just about the only article out there and they referenced it on Nitro site :)

Why not get a genuine Torsen? They make them for the D44 in up to 3:1 bias.

So I pulled the trigger here and installed this carrier swapping out the original Trac-Lok at 47K miles. Nitro Gear shipped next day and I got the carrier after few days. So far so good, 600 miles with this new diff. There is only carrier in the box. I am showing two carrier bearings from Spicer 10040478 rebuild kit which I got separately. The install was smooth. Planning to do some offroad trips soon and will report how it goes.

Make sure your backlash and carrier bearing preload are exactly the same with the new carrier or you’ll introduce gear noise and potential early failure.

Funny I have a friend who swears Yukon is the best and nothing will change his mind.
I’m in a group with mostly professional gear installers and the majority won’t touch Yukon gears anymore due to quality and extreme run-out.

Pre-COVID Yukon is not the same as Post-COVID Yukon. My offroad club has a lot of members that sing their praises, and a lot that swear off any of their brands. The defining difference seems to be when you dealt with them. Not one JL or JT owner has had a good experience, but the JK and prior owners seem to have had a great experience.
