Subwoofer Removal

Has anyone removed the subwoofer from the rear cargo floor? What did you replace the flap with?

I really want the storage space back and it doesn't seem like the sub adds that much.

I just removed mine today. The connector for the sub is behind the passenger side plastics so those have to go. I've got a Goose Gear plate going over the entire floor that has a door for the cubby.

I took the seat belts out while I was in there too.

No idea... I would assume you can install it but not sure how it would hook up to the stereo.

Yep, exactly on both counts.

Will you sell it? Could people without alpine system install it in the same spot?

It doesn't look very helpful unless you're just replacing a broken sub. There's an 8-pin connector on it specific to the Alpine premium package.

Overall, not too bad. You miss the "bump" at low-mid volumes but there's still a bit at higher volumes from the other speakers. I may eventually put a self-powered sub under a seat. For now, it's not a priority.

It leaves me with a cubby to hold my aux battery, redarc, and compressor. It opened up space to mount the fridge. It also gave me more room for the dogs as the flat floor now extends closer to the seats.

I'll take that trade-off.

Plastic cover? Not sure what you mean. Are you talking the OEM one? If so, no. I scrapped the OEM cover entirely.

I did buy the Goose Gear platform spec'd for no subwoofer.

Yes I meant the oem wheel cover like the picture attached.
I am going to build my own platform with some drawers under might buy the plastic cover.

I wonder if perhaps you're referring to the 4 doors? The 2 doors in this thread have the subwoofer in the cargo floor cubby.

Yes, sorry I am talking about the 4 door, once you take that panel off you need the one without subwoofer
