hi guys, I need to upgrade the bass in my 2d with a regular 7 inch audio system.
1. does the radio have a subwoofer output? I didn't find it in the wiring diagram.
2. is it reasonable to add a subwoofer, or upgrade the speakers in the instrument panel up and down and overhead?
3. i don't want a subwoofer in the trunk where it should be and a subwoofer on the rear door.
I would like one of these alternatives.
3a. large active 1200W subwoofer and connect it so that it can be removed

3b. small subwoofer one or two under the front seats

or

3c. JBL remowable one or two subwoofers where only the base is connected and the subwoofer body itself can be easily disconnected and taken away.

Ok a few things:
1. Use the search function. There is huge wealth of knowledge on this exact topic.
2. Check out my thread to get you started: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...razy-3800-watt-audio-upgrade-write-up.154480/
3. The answers to your questions DEPEND on your current setup.

- Where are you going to put your suggested subwoofer boxes if not in the trunk? The seats don’t easily fit anything below unless it’s very compact, which doesn’t drive a ton of bass at that point.
- Your factory setup determines how easy this upgrade will be. Do you have the Alpine audio from factory or not? It will change the path you chose. In either case there isn’t just a simple “subwoofer out” or “speakers out” behind the head unit. You need to either splice into speaker wires or use additional tools.

I mean honestly I could keep writing here for hours but why don’t you start with the information that’s already available on here. All your questions are going to be answered there if you read carefully and consciously.
