Well, I have a tale of woe.

I ordered my Rubicon on January 19 and it went into KZ status on 3/6 with an eta the end of March. It got stuck in Toledo because of the railcar shortage. FCA management got involved and arranged to directly truck ship my Jeep and a few others for the Las Vegas market.

The truck was due in Vegas today. It arrived but just before reaching the dealership the driver went under an overpass that had low clearance. My Wrangler was unfortunately the top front car and took the impact. It was totaled. :(

FCA is pursuing two options right now. They're looking for an identical configuration in the Western US and they are submitting a "frame replacement" that will go into production in the next few days.

Meanwhile, I'm trying tio keep things in perspective and realizing that other than this entire Wrangler ordering experience I've had a blessed life. If this is the worst that happens to me I'm still in great shape.

No, the car is totaled. My understanding is they put my replacement car into production on an expedited basis. It should go D1 within a week or so.

No, that's the code they use to say they are going to put a new build at the front of the line for him at the factory so that he can get a new one more quickly.

that is certainly shocking - so close to delivery, and bam.

really glad to hear FCA is working hard to keep you as a customer - the horror stories I've come across time and again, it's good to see at least one instance of trying to help represent customer service.

and I definitely agree with your perspective overall - you weren't in the Jeep when something of that impact happened - so it's a good day.

Bummer... I wonder if they would sell me those bumpers for cheap ;)

They should give you a free upgrade and include every option you didn't order for free.
Why? Sounds like they are doing their best to be responsive and fair. It was an accident, not a criminal act.

They should give you a free upgrade and include every option you didn't order for free.
They are giving me financial compensation for my troubles. I have no complaint about the focus on customer service I've received. In my experience the sign of good customer service how they deal with problems when they occur. I'm a customer for life.

Not for the accident, for the original massive delay. It wasn't fair that other vehicles ordered months after his were sent before his was sent. Then compounded by the accident. I've had companies give me gift cards, 50% off future purchases, etc. for their F-ups on purchases less than $500, why can't FCA throw in a $895 retail option that cost them $200 as an apology for a $45,000 purchase? Update: See, they DID compensate him. Makes FCA look MUCH better.

Good on you for your positive attitude on the whole situation. More people need to learn to handle life problems as well as you do. I hope good things and your new JL come your way.
