I wanted to see what everyone thinks...21 JLU Rubicon.

I'm considering an EVO 2.5" lift with either bypasses or coilovers. It is a Jeep for fun and camping/offroading adventures for the family so I want a good quality ride with my lift.

Plan is: Nitto Trail Grappler 37s, beadlocks, lift and gears.

Who has either setup with pics and can give a decent, honest review? Thanks.

Avoid EVO like the plague. You’ve been warned.
Warned with no context to back it up. I’m not calling you a liar but I would like to have some context

edit: Unless you’re talking about that one guy that had some bowing on his coils. In which case that’s probably 1 of a couple complaints I’ve seen.

Ive seen plenty of people very happy with their kits and customer service. I’m not shilling for anybody but I’m hoping you have some more info that maybe I don’t

I glow in the dark!
For your named uses, coil overs are a big waste of money IMO. Bypass shocks are probably also overkill. I think something like the Clayton Overland lift and some Falcon 3's would be ideal.

Context please? I'm not dead set on any manufacturer just doing research and read bad about accutune who is local to me.

That's probably true. I have looked at the Falcons and Teraflex as well. I'm a former Carli/Cummins guy so I like high performance shocks lol.

I'm in socal so lots of bombing through the desert and I love Kings.

Ask @Moto_21 and @40”JLURD about EVO. I personally would look at RK or MC before EVO. I just like their approach to suspension setup better, and I can go into detail on that if you need me to.

Out of the box evo coilover bracketry needs a lot of help. And the coilover valving is horrid. And will be just the same or worse for thier combo bypass/co valving so if i was you id mix and match and get a tuned set of shocks from accutune or downsouth motorsports.

Search EVO on this site. They have great ideas but poor execution and horrid customer service.

No help response. OP, I've run different EVO parts on previous Jeeps and have some of their stuff on my current Jeep. No issues.

Also, for the money you are talking, I'd recommend taking a look at ADS as well.

You are definitely in the minority.
I bet we can all use the search function and find multiple complaints on every manufacturer. None are perfect. OP asked for actual honest reviews and we're still waiting for yours based on experience. Or do you just regurgitate others postings? Give us a link to something.

No I won’t give them a dime based on multiple accounts of horrible service, missing hardware, and poorly designed parts. Are you saying I can’t have an opinion because I’ve never bought anything from them? We’re a community here. We share our own experience as well as the experience of others. Yes you can find negative feedback from every manufacturer, but with EVO the negative outweighs the positive by a large margin. I’m glad you haven’t had any issues with them.

A lot of what is mentioned about is on track... If your budget allows for a high quality suspension system and you plan to off-road a lot and don't plan to add a ton of weight, our 2.5 coilover kit is awesome. The ride is surprising both on and off-road. Coilovers have a lot of adjustability and perform really well on just about every type of terrain. The kit we have provides 5" of up travel for about a 3-3.5" lift, along with custom tuned shocks/spring rates.

Second best option would be a standard coil spring lift with some Fox 2.5 DSC shocks.

I would stay away from bypass shocks for a Jeep, overkill, complicated and if not setup right can make the Jeep ride pretty rough. And when I say complicated, we have a 5 part article just on bypasses ;)

Feel free to shoot us a message if you have any specific questions you would like to ask!
