Oh boy this what I was worried about. Those clutched t-cases are a pain in the ass. Keep us posted man I was VERY suspicious of this option. Could be problematic I feel and I would always advise someone to get standard t case...Thanks for your responses. I’ll keep you guys undated. Probably bring it in to the dealership tomorrow or Tuesday.
I have the 4 Wheel Auto option. Which I have left it on since I live in Chicago and weather has been cruddy.
Do they have front axle disconnect in the part time 4WD JLs? I hope not.I wonder if that stupid FAD system is acting up? There was a very good reason that Chrysler ditched that system back in the 1990s.
Yep they sure do. It's a big device on the axle tube, passenger side. I haven't investigated how it works yet...but I hope it's electric and not vacuum or gas like the old systems of the 80s and 90s.Do they have front axle disconnect in the part time 4WD JLs? I hope not.

Message “Service 4WD” just popped up on my JL Sahara dashboard.
Going to call dealership Monday morning.
Not even 2,000 miles on it yet. Does anyone know what may have caused this alert?
I have 1800 miles on my JLUR and starting yesterday mine did the same thing, but is tied in with ABS and Traction control codes as well. It has been randomly coming on and off as I drive it without anything seeming to be actual wrong with the Jeep. It does say 4WD is temporarily unavailable when I start it, so there’s that annoyance as well. I have to travel for the next couple of weeks with my job and cant take it to the dealership until then, so hopefully someone will have an answer as I have seen a few others with the same problem but no resolution.
