Anyone else noticing this on their JL? Lately I've noticed a squeaking noise when driving away from my driveway onto the street or from a parking spot at low speed. Sounds almost like it's coming from the the front wheels area -- sort of a 'rotating' squeak which changes with speed. It seems to go away when driving normal road speed. After some driving the noise seems to go away. I can almost visualize the axle or wheel hub needing lubrication (hope that makes sense, as I'm not too savvy with automotive mechanics ).
A couple of my own 'theories':
- A few days ago I was having a bit of fun and drove through a decent-sized puddle (you know, like in that Jeep ad?) . Could water have made its way into the wheel hub causing the squeaking?
- Recently road salt has started being put down on our icy roads and I know those can cause squeaking in brakes too, at least in my own experience with previous cars(not sure if that's of any relevance)
Wondering if anyone has come across this noise, has any ideas on what it might be and what could cause it. Thanks in advance!
EDIT: Sorry for not mentioning that this is all a stock configuration -- no lifts, shocks, custom wheels, etc.
