I have been looking at the same steps. I think I may go with the go rhino. I saw a couple of reviews about the finish not holding up but I like the looks of these a lot.

The OE JL Rubicon rock rails are body mounted. While the OE JL Rubicon rock rails should bear the weight of the vehicle (forklift test), they're actually not meant to be load bearing because they're body mounted. The "rock rails" description actually refers to deflecting rocks that are kicked up as opposed to "rock sliders" which are more of an underframe skid plate. In my opinion, the primary issue with adding any sort of underframe skid plate meant to protect the frame rails themselves is that you will lose ground clearance where the skid plate is attached. While there are solutions on other vehicles where they're advertised as allowing you to drag your vehicle over rocks and debris, if anyone actually attempts something like that the odds of getting high centered are pretty high. To clarify, in our opinion, avoiding the rocks will be safer than dragging/sliding your Jeep over them. On our JL Side Armor Steps, the mounting brackets sit higher than the lowest part of the OE body mount brackets.

The wiring harness should be connected to the door lights. I've attached an image below of what they'll look like when they're on.

Thanks

I was gonna go with the Rhino, but wanted the items sooner so went with the Mopar factory style... most functional as a “step”.

Chris...Have you had a chance to wire the step lights yet. Was wondering if you did and if you can share how you did that?
Not yet, I was busy installing their front & rear bumpers the past few days(while balancing other projects at the same time.)
I didn't have time to finish the rear yesterday, so I had my wife pick me up and left the Jeep at the shop. I will post pictures/info on the wiring when i do get around to it this coming week.

Which steps are those

On your Jeep? Are you going with their tire carrier too, because I thought you just installed the Mopar reinforcement brackets for the spare. Please post good pictures of the rear bumper when you get a chance.

My only thing is that I don't like the ROAM logo cutout in the pinch seam area, but I love the idea of led lights. The LoD destroyers don't have a logo cutout in the pinch seam, which is a plus, but it didn't have led lights. If they do make theirs with an integrated led light kit for the JL then they get my money. Sorry ROAM, I just don't like the logo cutout. If you didn't have that, I'd buy yours in a heartbeat.

Yeah I purchased the Mopar hinge the day I sold my factory wheels so that I could have a spare. A few days later I had the ROAM front & rear/carrier. Still working on finishing up the rear.

Thanks for the pics, Chris. I am looking forward to hear about what you think about the Roam stuff once you get everything buttoned up.

If you don’t mind, I am interested to hear what your wife thinks about the Roam steps, and if it’s easier for her to get in and out of the Jeep with them installed.

No problem.
I will have her and the kids try out the steps once I have the Jeep back at home(She's 5'1".) I'm 6'4" with long legs, and with the Jeep at the current height the steps really are not a necessity for me. My buddy who is 5'9" seemed to like them on the short ride he took with me. What I like is it kept him from sliding over the leather bolsters to get in/out.
My four boys are 2-10 yrs old and all but the youngest could climb into the Jeep before. I'm curious how they handle it with the steps. I may need to put a low handle somewhere for them to grab onto.

Yeah, my wife and daughter both have a little trouble getting in and out of the Jeep. I also need the step to keep them from sliding across the seat bolsters as they try to jump out. That seat bolster will not last long if they keep doing that over and over.

I know you don't use them but are you able to use the Mopar tailgate reinforcement without the mopar oversized tire carrier?
