Tree hugging aside - I’m excited about it simply because of the HP and torque - 392 excluded, the 4xe model is reporting Wrangler-leading performance... coupled with tax breaks, gas savings, a quiet responsive ride around town, and helping the Earth a bit - I’m good with all that.

Oh, and I live in a community where many families also own electric golf cars and scoot around the neighborhoods and to Wawa and the local supermarket in them... with doors and top off, I’m going to have the baddest ass electric golf cart on the block ?? ?
Lol, I didn't even think of the around town part of it! You also won't put wear on your engine with short trips that don't warm it up completely. Hell, that Pentastar might go a million miles under those conditions!

That makes me wonder if they put an electric heating element in the climate control system. Without the engine running, it'll be a cold ass ride, even with the fiery seat and steering wheel heat, if they didn't. If they did, then you won't have to wait for the engine to warm up to get warm air going. Another plus! (Although I must say, my JL and JK, too, for that matter, do warm up surprisingly quickly on the coldest mornings.

Whoever gets the first one, let us know how the heat works! I wouldn't be shocked if they just made the heat mode all electric.

Good points and share! I live in South Florida - If anything, I’m trying to keep engines and seats and steering wheels as cold as possible - haha!

What is the likely chance FCA will price Rubicon 4xe under $55K as equipped below:

when a comparably equipped 2.0T is priced below?

I don't even care that its a PHEV. I'm just happy I can finally get a Rubicon without any RED!!!
I feel like I'm the only guy who wants MORE red, when I get a Jeep, I'm putting red seatbelts and interior accents in it, haha. But, the 4xe blue is sick!

Thank you for pulling that benchmarking data! I think that helps those of us waiting for pricing to see what we should reasonably expect the price to look like based on the market.

Yes it does. Although that makes me worry that my initial estimate of around $7K may not be that far off. I'm hoping to see it closer to the diesel's $4K increase, although that may be a bit optimistic.

Your welcome. I am considering the 4xe myself. I didnt bother including Land Rover's pricing because I think it's very absurd and not apples-to-apples due to the engine they chose to electrify.

I think Audi and BMW are using the same PHEV transmission from ZF, like Jeep.
