Just rejoined the club for the first time in my post-JK days... didn’t even make it to 2 months in the JL. Was really hoping that the additional rake in the windshield would help, ugh. Hopefully it can be filled. Stupid ass Verizon truck in front of me.

I'm a member of the JK Cracked Windshield Club. I've gone through 7 windshields with my 2012 Jeep. My next windshield will be on my 2018 JL so I'm looking forward to joining...

Yep I had my 2012 JK from 2014-18 and had 4 windshields... really hoped to avoid the issue in my brand new JL for longer than 45 days, sigh. No fault of the Jeep, though... that’s just “the Gods” to reference Vikings, I guess.

Glad I still have my $100 glass deductible on my policy... just hope I can get the proper OEM acoustic replacement quickly and without any installation issues. I have a feeling I will be watching the installer very closely the entire time where with my JK I got used to the “cool I’ll be inside see ya in about an hour” routine!

Mine made it two days and 151 miles before it got smacked. A forum member in South Dakota made it only four miles from the dealership before his was hit. That may be the record! Waiting two weeks for Safelite to get my new windshield is only half over. Hopefully, they receive one from MOPAR and they are able to keep next Tuesday’s appointment.

Two weeks, huh... ugh. Guess I better go ahead and call it in and get on the list

Two weeks might be a regional thing. They told me their only source right now for the acoustic glass is MOPAR.

I take these posts as a cautionary tale and will definately ask State Farm about glass protection or lower the deductible. Sorry about the buzzkill though

The annoying thing is that we all end up paying for this through increased premiums. If JL windshield cracks are this insane, I'm not gonna replace it every time. I'll delay.

I let the little cracks build up on my JK until it suddenly spread horizontally across my entire windshield. Getting it replaced wasn't cheap and I knew it was just going to happen again. Since then, I've been lucky. Hope the JL windshield lasts a few years at least, if it ever shows up.

Oh yeah I'm anticipating there may be some delay... and there's no way I'm taking anything other than an OEM exact match to what I have now on my brand new Rubicon. I'll ride around with it cracked until they can get me an acoustic replacement, hopefully won't take long. I'll update everyone once I find out the details.

If you're going to have a Wrangler, you definitely need to make sure you're aware of what your non-collision deductible is and make sure that includes windshield glass. Figure out what the impact on your premium is and then choose wisely based on the fact that essentially replacing an OEM Wrangler windshield is typically around $400-500+... I think I've read on here that the acoustic Rubican windshield is like $600-700 installed. So really doesn't make much sense to have like a $500 deductible if it's only another $5-10 on your policy premium to have a much lower deductible, because at $500 you're basically paying out of pocket for almost all of the windshield anyway.

I have a $100 deductible and with the amount of windshields I've had to replace, I've gotten good value out of it and the associated premium impact.
