I have just over 11K miles on a 2018. I'm dropping it off on Thursday....This started last week. I'm hoping its just a battery issue. I did add a 5 volt solar panel trickle charger a few days ago. It is plugged into the power port in the rear, which is always powered...It isn't providing enough oomph...to keep the system fully charged...if that is the problem....Guess I will find out....I've read the threads on bypassing the smaller battery if needed, so I haven't worried about being stranded. I only have this issue after a few days of the vehicle sitting, so I'm leaning towards a battery issue only. I haven't taken advantage of the jeep wave oil changes or tire rotations, so I will see how the local dealership is....I attempted to purchase a vehicle from them 2x before and the sales people were horrible...due to my schedule, I'm stuck with utilizing them for this service....fingers crossed.

thats a weird one. almost like the starter is not engaging properly. what is your voltage in acc mode without starting the vehicle? should be about 12.5-12.7VDC. this seems less like a battery and more like a starter but ive been wrong before on these new cars. old trucks either start or dont. and you know right away what it is. LOL

Yeah, its shows 11.7 when it started...I will check again before starting....It hasn't NOT started yet....but I'm pretty sure this isn't how it should behave LOL.

not one bit. i have a 18 JLU sport with 11K miles and mine sits 80% of the time in the driveway looking pretty as i have a company truck for work i take home daily. lucky me i guess. anyways i havent had any issues with starting like that at all. have you pushed down all the fuses in the engine bay? might be worth the two mins to do it. and maybe unplug the solar panel and see if its causing a problem. more or less soundings like a starter or the battery. and if they change the battery theyre supposed to change both per the manual

Good to know on replacing both...I will be sure to call them on that...I added the solar panel after this started....Hoping it would alleviate it...maybe it just needed a boost...mine sits a week at most between starting...that isn't excessive....I travel a lot....but 7 days is the max....I bought it with 200 miles on it last year....so it was already a year old.....

Your solar panel getup is likely doing nothing. You can use that to charge a phone or something, but not a car battery. This looks like you have a bad connection or a failed battery, have you indepently tested your crank and main batteries? The big battery is not used for starting. Check your electrical connections at the fuse block, and look for loose grounds.

Do a search. The ESS battery and charging system is a weak link. Sitting a year most likely drained and killed the batteries. They might take a charge but plates were probably damaged. Probably need to replace BOTH batteries. Consider a battery maintainer if your Wrangler is not driven regularly. There are some charger/maintainers for less then $50 that are excellent. Some even recondition damaged batteries. Costco has a 4 amp Duracell battery charger/maintainer that reconditions batteries for $30 now. I bought one and it works great.

I checked all the fuses and connections first thing. I will get a maintainer for the future. These batteries should be covered by the warranty. I will find out tomorrow.

Got a call a few hours later...it's a computer module. It has been ordered...and they do not do 5 tire rotations...only 4. I told him fine...I'd work the spare in when I get it home. Easy enough....thinking of painting the rims anyway. Painted the wife's F150 about a year ago....as a test. They look great and have held up well. Proof enough for me to do mine now.

Power train control module. He said the re-progamming took longer than actually installing....Should be all up to date with the latest and greatest updates....I will find out when I pick it up this weekend....
