Agree completely. Try to be inclusive. Waive or don't waive. Don't need permission regarding who to waive to.
Not to mention, my brother drives a Renegade and that thing is bloody awesome. Compared to any other vehicle in that segment I would take one of those every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I wouldn't ever initiate a wave to a Renegade but I'd return one. Even though it's barely a Jeep it still qualifies. Agree about not waving to Hummers. We have a trailer park that I drive by on the way to work. It must be a thing to live there and drive a Hummer. There were at least 4 or 5 H2s all parked in the same area when I drove by there the other day. Fine if that's your thing but I just found it interesting.

A loaded out Renegade TrailHawk is about 10 Grand Cheaper than my JL Sahara. I wish I had those payments instead of my current ones lol.

General Rules:

1. All Jeepers are responsible for upholding the tradition of the Wave. It seems that generally the Jeep wave is only practiced by Jeep owners driving the following Jeep vehicles; CJ, YJ, TJ, JK.

2. All Jeepers are required to return the Wave even if it's a Grand Cherokee or Compass.

3. Do not EVER wave to Hummers, even if you know the person.

He may have just been waving to acknowledge you have a new JL and he likes it / wishes he was driving one. I think you are putting way too much thought into this honestly.

I always wave at other wranglers and my work buddy makes jokes about it. Since he drives a Prius I ask what he does when he sees another Prius on the road. He said they have to blow kisses. :cwl:
That’s pretty damn funny :)

There I was with the delusion that maybe the wave threads might stop with the JL. Nope. LOL

Well if other Wrangler owners actually did the Jeep Wave we wouldn't complain.

I'm a little disappointed in the LACK of waves I've gotten since I got my JL. There are many wranglers out there and I have only gotten 3 waves. I wave every time I see one (i know...a little desperate) and had only 1 returned. New Yorkers are a little jaded

As someone who drives a Renegade, I take offense.

WTH? "Are Renegades even considered Jeeps." Come on.

Throwing shade doesn't make your JL cooler.
Who let you in here??

Just kidding. I actually saw a Trailhawk out in the snow and thought it was pretty cool. That said, you need to recognize that - no matter how you slice it - the renegade is the "baby brother" of the Jeep family. So, like all other baby brothers, you need to be prepared for a fair amount of good-natured ribbing. But at the end of the day, we're all Jeeps. Your Jeep just happens to be a Scion xB with Jeep badging on it :cwl:
