I was driving my Jeep in a parking lot this morning and was checking out my sweet LED tail lights in a reflection in a window as I drove away. I noticed when I let off the brakes there is a delay in when the brake light stops illuminating, about a half second delay. Is this normal, have any of you noticed this as well? I've never had a vehicle with LED lights before, is this just the way LED lights operate? Just wondering...

Seems like a good feature to me. 'Brake lights' are really just 'Don't rear end me' lights, and keeping them on a split second after you release the brake might help mitigate rear-end accidents.
Ya, I was thinking the same thing. Just wondering if everyone's LED brake lights do the same? I would have to believe they do.

I've never looked at my tail lights, but I love how everyone thinks I'm hitting them with my high beams with the headlights. I was on the interstate tonight driving home and some asshole slowed down in front of me so I went around him and then he sped up and road my ass with his high beams on. The problem was he was driving a Prius and was so low that the high beams didn't bother me. At first, I was like "why is this guy following so close and changing lanes with me after I passed him". And then it hit me that his high beams were on :LOL:. Silly cars.

If everyone thinks you are hitting them with your high beams, then maybe, just maybe you should adjust them. Doesn’t matter if they are on low if you are still blinding oncoming traffic. Our JLs are often set too high from the factory.
And this was a 4 yr old post about led tail light delay. Not sure how the cool Prius story was relevant.

My Charger with LEDs is the same, seems perfectly normal.

Now that all the vehicle controls route through the Can-bus it can take an extra moment for the signal to go through the system wiring and controllers. Sadly your feet and hands no longer directly control much except for steering.

The software was probably created by a former Microsoft Windows code writer:

Brake Pedal
Pressed = Light On
Released = Run Subroutine "AreYouSure?"
Return Loop
