  1. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Just confirmed, yep, the external clutch slave is being used. Haven't been able to get any info out of the warranty department as to why the first one failed.
  2. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

I'll ask my shop. I know they replaced the hydraulics. I think there was talk of an external slave but, unfortunately, I don't know enough about this stuff.
  3. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Short update on my upgrade: I upgraded to a CFII a number of months ago. Had issues with it - it wouldn't always disengage. It sometimes howled when starting off in first. It sometimes wouldn't even go into first or reverse without first being put in a higher gear. Not sure if this...
  4. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Not necessarily. It's all about benefit/risk. If the occurrence of the high severity harms is low enough and they weigh the benefit of the current design "saving the planet" by meeting CAFE standards and this mythical benefit outweighs the risk then they can substantiate not making a "real"...
  5. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Like I said, if an OEM solution were available then that would make sense. However, since Jeep basically said that our clutches can explode and burn our Jeeps to the ground but there isn't a fix available and won't be for months many of us feel we're in an untenable situation. I have trips...
  6. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

That's the big question. Not sure if they'll reimburse for aftermarket or not. I could have sworn that somewhere in one of thesw threads someone said that they got reimbursed for parts cost but not labor. Haven't been able to find that post though.
  7. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

Yeah, the original recall notice stated that you could submit for reimbursement if you'd already had the work done. I also had the initial submission rejected because they couldn't deal with the PDF attachments. I emailed them the same PDFs again and then was rejected.
  8. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

My request was declined after a week. They said that the TSB wasn't updated and there were no parts available so they couldn't reimburse at this time. That leads me to believe that aftermarket stuff will default to not being reimbursed, which I could see if they had an acceptable fix...
  9. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

So...I had some extra cash and some anxiety to I had my shop put a Centerforce II clutch in mine. Submitted for a reimbursement and got denied so that doesn't necessarily work. Something about the TSB not being updated and not having any parts. So, looks like you need to do their fix on your...
  10. Has anyone mounted an ARB Twin behind the rear seat, bolted to a slipstream...

I finally bit the bullet and bought an ARB Twin so I can replace my $70 amazon special portable compressor. Spending $!50 for a bracket to put it under the passenger seat doesn't sit well. I also have that space used already. So, I was thinking of bolting it to the rear panel of the...
  11. Minnesota MetalCloak Rear Diff Skid

I did the Artec Apex. I'm moving to the Next Venture Motosports skid since that doesn't interfere (so says some guy on the internet who has them both installed).
  12. Minnesota MetalCloak Rear Diff Skid

Decently used rear diff skid. Scraping but no real deformation. Bottom side was painted black but has some wear. I trussed my rear axle and had to remove this due to interference. Simple bolt-on install. Was $161 new. Asking $100. North Metro area.
  13. Minnesota Driver Side Front Fender flare (factory LED)

I toasted the passenger side one on the trail so I went aftermarket. Driver side flare is in decent shape. Fender liner not included. Asking $75. I'm in the North Metro area.
