inspired by this thread, I figured I might be able to do it so I gave it a shot.
https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/...bar-swaybar-to-mojave-with-oe-controls.67966/

long story short: It's a bit different and not easy, we need to add another cable.

so If you want to keep everything OEM like me, push a button and disconnect the rubicon sway bar smart bar, this is the full process:

We need to prepare:
1.Rubicon Sway bar with smart bar (of course)
2. OEM Locker control panel.
(I bought it from eBay but you can buy from Zautomotive
https://www.zautomotive.com/product...fFJjhtqvLPjdZE7LjihMy3KXMdOlOUu2f6-kJCd9QnMHs)
3. AuxZillary Kit, it comes with a cable that connects the locker panel to the CAN BUS allows the button to function as OEM (or to one of their relay so you may purchase another kind of sway bar) and you can also buy the 4 aux button panel so everything looks OEM.
4. Tazer to enable the OEM function
5. Connector-Star Can Bus connector.
6. mopar 8-way connector kit 68490924AA to connect XY291A to the sway bar. it's a bit different from the thread above and I'll get to it.

So we first just need to wire the mopar 8 way connector, 6 cables out, 1 for IGN 12V+, 1 for POWER 12V+, 2 for ground. and 2 for CAN C+ and CAN C-

the different part from the Mojave in the thread is, they did connected all 6 cables to XY291A that's under the fender. and that's what I tried in the first place.

BUT! the sport model's XY291A doesn't connect to the CAN BUS through XY302A, so instead of connecting all 6 cables from 68490924AA to XY291A, we just need to connect 1 for IGN 12V+, 1 for POWER 12V+, 2 for ground. and the 2 CAN C +- cable goes separately, wiring directly into the passenger glove box green CAN BUS. and plug into any empty slot.

by now you should have the panel talk to CAN BUS, and to the Sway bar already.
then enable the OEM sway bar function from Tazer by holding Left key and tap sway bar button.

Now you should have the sway bar in action, enjoy!

Great work!! Glad you got it all sorted out. Moderators should probably move this to the DIY Forum for people looking for this info in the future.

Really comes down to do you want to finance the stuff or pay out of pocket for it later. A few members have added the axles and t-case after for <3k which is for sure a savings.

When my wife bought the car we never intended to do off-road and once we got into it, it doesn’t worth to sell the sport and buy a rubicon, plus, DIY is the fun and challenging part.
I’m only posting this for the ones who may want to do the same as me.

And to answer your question, it probably doesn’t worth it if you are only upgrading your sway bar, Im also adding the aux switches, and in the next month the Dana 44 axels.
and I haven’t seen anyone done this, so just for the information out there.

The electronic sway bar thing is one of the least important features of the rubi. The sway bar can be disconnected in less than a minute with a $150 quick disco kit.

I think whoever does this is mostly for fun.

EVO no limits takes like 10 seconds, which includes hopping in and out of the Jeep.
I'm in the process of sourcing a Rubicon unit. Slightly more expensive than most after market quick disconnect.

I have been running TF quick disconnect, but it needs grease. Although it works, I am tired of getting grease on my hands and flighting for alignment when reconnecting it. I know Apex has a different solution for the same convenience but I like the EVO no limit route better.

Nice write up, but I personally dont think I would jump that many hoops to enable the feature with push of a button.

Nice you did this with the stock axles and not upgraded to the rubi axles. Nice job.

If I was able to have gotten my Rubicon sway bar WITH the smart bar I would totally be digging this write up. Unfortunately, it had been removed but the bar assembly itself was essentially brand new, with about 300 miles on it and the same year as my Jeep, 2023. I put the EVO kit on it instead. An awesome write up though, I never found a complete how to on making the electric unit work on a non-Rubicon.

Key question: Was it worth the cost compared to the Rubicon trim cost?
For me…yes. I’ve owned many rubicons. I chose to go with a 2024 Willy’s last year which essentially is the rubicon light. I paid 43k for a JLU Willy’s. Already added a front Eaton locker $2200 installed and a sway lock (antirock type sway bar) so no disconnect needed. swapped the suspension too and of course wheels and tires which would have had to be done on the rubicon anyway. Same 4.10 gears—I just don’t have the 4:1, I have the 2.72:1 like Mojave’s have and so far wheeling it no issue. I’ll likely grab a 4:1 take off someday but not rush.

also, it’s rumored the 2024+ Willy’s and rubicon axles are actually thicker tubes than the pre 2024 rubicons. 10mm vs 7mm—-and the Willy’s also has the same wide axle now too. So for me, absolutely worth it. The similar equipped rubicons were nearly 60k

Good timing - I have a 25 Mojave X and have a barely used Rubicon sway bar setup coming soon. Trying to decide how to make it function. A guy on the JT side pointed to this thread. Hmmmmm, do I really want to rip a 7 month old truck that far apart and take apart the pain in the butt center stack (the pre-24s were a TON easier to take apart - the 24+ is a pain in the butt)
So weighing my options. It's a JT but most of this still counts.

I bought the EVO manual knob for mine whenever I get it installed. I may reconsider if you get something better figured out.
