WOLFBOX Telescopic Camping Light Has Arrived. Pics & Initial Thoughts. BTW - This was NOT given to me in exchange for a review.

I will get this out on our end-of-the-month camping trip. We are going to wheel & camp through Montana, Wyoming and Idaho. There will be plenty of nights on the trip to test this out.

INITIAL POSITIVE THOUGHT (Before use): This appears to be a very well-built light! No regrets on this purchase.
INITIAL NEGATIVE THOUGHT (Before use): The 3 pegs designed to anchor this into the ground are far too thin & probably too short. I am basing this on my years of camping and using stakes of all varieties. I use 2 types of stakes currently:

Well packaged & looks good to boot







Comes with a dual zippered bag for storage & transport




-The small bag on the right can store all your small goodies
-The short plastic piece by the carabiner are legs for setting the light on a table
-You get a super long cord for charging, but I will use one of the bigger-ended ones I have. The light has both types of receptacles (A & C)

I believe I had this on high. I will get better night shots and add later.




I believe this was on low with the red lights on too

Here are those pesky stakes. So far, my only criticism.

I plugged it in to charge but found it 100% fully charged! You can see the charge-level indicator lights




The controller is very light and does have a battery included. I will attach it to my light when not in use. There are a multitude of functions so have fun experimenting and/or read the directions. You can operate the light without the controller!






That's it until I can play some more. We've a rainy day but I will try to get some night shots over the next 2 nights.

This seems to be a well thought out light system! So far, I have ZERO regrets. As mentioned, I will not use the enclosed stakes IF I need to stake it down.

@WOLFBOX CAR LIFE, next to my TriPro Cameras, this is my next most-favorite item of yours I own. I use my cameras daily and will use this light on every trip - in addition to when I read in low light situations at home.

Couple of questions for you. Is the tall light stand tripod all plastic, or are some of the parts aluminum? One of my concerns is always someone hitting the legs and they just break, especially the pivot points. Also, did you get any type of a discount through our JL site?

I’ve been pretty torn on these type of lighting units. I feel like it’s sort of a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist while camping. On the flip side, I apparently love to spend $$ on things that I don’t actually need but I think are really cool.

For this upcoming trip I will only use this light and my head and/or neck lights.
I ALWAYS read when camping. We will often need to do activities in the dark. The red light will be used as a welcome-light for the others in our group to help them find our site. If we want an ambient light at the site, the red will be just enough.

I won't know for sure, but I suspect we will use it.



The legs weigh 6.7 Lbs. as per my bathroom scale. The 3 legs are magnetic so a form of steel?
The dual braces from each leg are also magnetic.
The central pole and the orange-colored connectors are probably aluminum.
The 3 black pieces which lock the central post at different heights are plastic.

I forgot to add: There are holes in the feet designed for their stakes to hook through. I will add metal rings through them so my hooked tent stakes will work, if I need .
