I guess it depends on what the base platform is (i.e. Sport vs. Rubicon). If starting from a Rubicon, I think the ROI diminishes above 35" tires and lift heights to accommodate. For the average wheeler, if you have good skids and a winch, going beyond 35" starts to have diminishing returns (NOT negative returns obviously, but that extra height becomes less necessary).

Just my (probably not popular) $0.02...

I'll agree with Hi-Lift. I've had one for nearly 30 years now and it's only been used for stuff around the house (pulling up fence posts mostly) and once to pop the bead on a motorcycle tire. I have never even had it near my JL.

Interesting! I've used one multiple times to get un-stuck/hung-up (granted, wouldn't have been necessary if there was a winch on the rig), and multiple times to change tires on the trail.

The last time I used mine was when I let go of the handle before hearing the "click."

I’m surprised to see lightbars on the list, but I guess that’s location-specific. Down south in a city? Definitely understand how they’re cosmetic.
Typically illegal for on-highway use. They do have use off-road, kind of like a high lift jack. ;)
