Let’s face it, the Internet is a negative place. We humans are more likely to post about a problem or something negative than about something positive.

Most of us love our Jeeps. So for a change let’s focus on and list those things that Jeep does WELL.

I’ll bet by the time you are done thinking of everything you like about your Jeep, you will go outside and give it a hug.

I’ll start:
  1. The 8-speed automatic. That transmission is a champ through and through. It’s tough, reliable, responsive, smooth and smart
  2. Any Jeep transfer case. Command-Trac, Selec-Trac or Rock-Trac, they are all rock solid, sturdy and very reliable
  3. The stronger current “next generation” Dana axles. Whether you have D35s or D44s, ride on 32s, 33s or 35s, you just don’t read about people breaking axles any more. I’m sure it still happens, but it seems to be a thing of the past for the most part even though a greater proportion of Wrangler owners now habitually ride on 35s
  4. Jeep’s QuadraCoil suspension. Your knees are more likely to give up before one of the springs on your Jeep ever does
  5. Despite all the electrical issues JL owners report, the 3.6 V6, 2.0T and the 392 HEMI are proven engines by now. The EcoDiesel, admittedly, seems to have its good days and its bad days —albeit most of the issues now seem to be in the past
  6. Hardtop and soft top weather proofing. Although leaks still occur, they are not nearly as present as they once were. I am reminded of this whenever I see the terrible job Ford did with both the hardtop and the soft top on Bronco

When you take all of these strengths into account, you realize JL is a pretty strong platform to build on.

8. The timeless "look". Jeeps look amazing in pretty much any color/model/trim/option package. There is a reason why the Wrangler has been in pretty much uninterrupted production since WWII and survived various ownership changes/bankruptcies, etc. but the Bronco had to be brought back as a nostalgia model after having been discontinued in the mid-90s because of waning popularity. It's just not a timeless design like the Wrangler.

I am shocked by how well it rides. I wasn't able to test drive the JL before I ordered mine, and I've been in older Wranglers... so I knew what I was in for... and it's so much better than expected. I'm also outspoken about Chrysler "quality"... my family has had a lot of different makes over the years... and Chryslers have always been the worst... and I bought the cheap base... and again, nicer than I was expecting.

I bought because of:
1) resale value
2) convertible
3) unique

I drove an Accord V6 coupe, a Lexus, and a VW before this... so the Wrangler is a total 180 for me...

and I legitimately have no complaints.

12. Customizability! (Is that a word? :CWL: )

Many vehicles offer the ability to customize them to your own liking, but none as much as the Wrangler!

• the 3.6s don't come with pesky engine covers anymore. There is at least one pissed off dude who found this out recently.
