Rolled 2 door recovered by Trailmater

I just watched Trailmater on Youtube who just recovered a 2 door Jeep that had flipped over forward and was laying on its hard top. The recovery went well and I was surprised that not one window got broke, just a small dent on the right rear quarter panel. With a metal cloak roof rack I bet it would have been unscathed.

The Jeep held up really well despite the rollover. With a sturdy metal roof rack, it might have been almost completely unscathed.

I see now at 13:40 it’s fins and things.

The guy was able to drive back home 300 miles so that’s a win!

They kind of glossed over it in the video, but the driver did mention that he shut the engine off quickly, and Rory mentions at the end of the video that you need to pull a bunch of stuff and let the oil drain back down for a while before attempting to start it up again.

So the first 1 with the Jeep on the trailer behind the RV. WTF is it not being flat towed? Why did they call for a recovery when the Jeep had a winch? Idgets.

We were scratching our heads too.

We don't flat tow our Jeep, but we also have a motorhome that is rated to tow a Jeep on a trailer.

That little Ford class C *might* have a 5k tow capacity *if* the chassis isn't already overloaded. Many of them are borderline GWVR from the factory. The trailer was too short for the Jeep's center of gravity, probably WAY too much tongue weight. Bad juju overall.

And yeah, why didn't they pull the Jeep off the trailer and use it to try to self-extricate. More money for Mater, so that's good at least.
