I am the second owner of Olaf; I purchased him just 48 hours after discovering my first Jeep, Dory the 392XR, was stolen from DFW airport. The previous owner, @iddpaul, built a great rig and took immaculate care of Olaf, but needed to upsize to a Gladiator to tow a new trailer and posted Olaf on the forum classifieds. Olaf had not sold after a couple of weeks and was set to be traded in at the dealership, destined for a future of underappreciation. I discovered my 392 stolen on a Tuesday, found Olaf here on the classifieds on Wednesday, flew from DFW to Tampa, FL, on Thursday afternoon to purchase, and then drove it 17hrs home on Friday.
Upgrades made by Paul before my purchase:
First fill up before starting the 17hr drive back to Texas!
Paul had purchased but not installed a full Artec Aluminum belly skid kit. I am impressed with the quality of the skids and hardware; the instructions were also very detailed. The installation went well, with no major hiccups. I'm looking forward to getting these scratched up in Hot Springs next week!
The first add-on slated for installation next week is an Innovative AT four-tire inflation system. I had one on my 392 and absolutely loved it; this time I'm going to try out the ARB pressure control unit as opposed to the manual valve and pressure gauge. More installs and wheeling photos to come!
