Ugh. I’ve been purposefully not doing the 19a clutch recall because I have an ACT aftermarket clutch and don’t want the crappy new software. Now I have to skip this new recall, too, because law says they have to perform all open recalls. Oh, well.

Safety Issue Type: Recalls

Well, mine has exceeded 28 months of service, so I don’t have to worry about them wanting to perform the clutch recalls.

What I am wondering is that I replaced my instrument panel last October because of the whole thing failing just like stated..
Dealer had it for almost a month and paid for it out of my own pocket!
Will I get a reimbursement?
If it is recalled, you should be reimbursed...

Just ask the dealer to only do the new recall and not the clutch recall. If you think the dealer is tripping over wanting to do more clutch recalls you're very misinformed. They pay like piss.

I went in for the gear position sensor recall and specifically told them not to do the clutch one

I'm not sure if I could trust my local dealer to do this. 🤦 I may need a new dashboard afterwards
Mm. The same thought had occurred to me.

If I could confirm that the recall was a straightforward, 1-for-1 module replacement with plug & play connectors, I might be tempted to simply take the non-functioning panel to my dealer for a trade. The fly in the ointment here is that they might reasonably want to observe said nonfunctioning with the panel in situ, prior to approving and proceeding with the recall replacement work.

Lack of trust is an annoyance, but when it's earned, we just have to figure out a way to deal with it.

Last time they had my Wrangler was for a rear main seal. They had to replace it twice and dented my hood. They fixed the hood, but had the Jeep for about 45 days. I think I'm good since I have the technology package.

I use to have a Cherokee Trailhawk that they ripped the CV when they did the PTU and they didn't say anything. I wouldn't trust them to wash my Jeep anymore.

yes, there's a while webpage for getting reimbursed for repairs that were later part of a recall, but good luck with that... it's even further behind than the recalls are.

you'll probably have to reach out to Stella directly to make anything happen.

This sucks. I hate going to my dealer. They did the steering box update because my Jeep wandered like a drunken scout and destroyed the drag link ball joint that connects to the pitman arm. Tearing shit up annoys me, sending it out that way pisses me off. I’m gonna need some Prozac…..
