Pretty much the same thing happened to me, roughly two (don't recall exactly) weeks before it was actually shipped, the Jeep Cares case manager emailed that it was in route with a confirmation number and delivery expected date. Then the date passed with nothing, and no new ETA or new shipping confirmation, until the dealer called a couple of weeks later and said it was in.

Sounds like the backlog might be getting worse, my cluster took two months to ship and I only got one ETA false alarm -- but the bad info from Jeep Cares over shipping/ETA seems the same.

This string is not heartening.

I paid cash for a new 2024 V6 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 2 months ago. This is my 4th Jeep since 1999 and my second Wrangler.

About 2 weeks ago the speedometer display went black and returned, twice, and then died. I took it to my local dealership, and they diagnosed it as a faulty speedometer screen and needed to replace the speeometer instrument cluster and display. However I was then told the replacement part is on backorder and they cant find one..

So the dealership has my new Jeep in its posession and will not let me drive it re: the odometer will not register.

I have been without transportation for a week now and they cannot give me an estimate for when the part is available but suggest it will be weeks. I will need to rent a car during this period at my own expense. I get to drive a compact rental car while my 65K Jeep is sitting in a lot at the dealership.

So I face not having my property indefinitely waiting for parts. Is it possible that there are no speedometers for 2024 Jeep Wranglers? That would pretty much put a stop on new Jeeps leaving the factory.

So I cannot imagine there is not a solution to this really disappointing situation. Is there a parts network that my dealership in Albuquerque is unaware of?

Please help. I cannot imagine that the third month of my new Jeep experience will be spent waiting for a common part.

tell them jeep back or cops show up to respond to stolen jeep call. Use phone GPS for speed, they want odometer? Fine, tell them to give you a 2024 rubicon loaded while parts ship.

They do not have any right to maintain possession of your vehicle. Mileage is not stored in the instrument cluster anyway, they are wrong.

FYI, stelantis legal is slow rolling all their lemon law claims, heard round the water cooler one just settled after 9 months.

but, get a lemon law lawyer, who does not charge you, takes his fee out of settlement, and fight the fight. Three options, they pay you to go away, they buy back, or they give you another one. At any point you can pull the plug, and walk, keeping what you have.

I was going to lemon my 2024 2-door over the hesitation issue, but they're offering compensation to keep it instead. Stellantis is doing ZERO buyback at the moment due to the severe financial losses. If you want them to buy it back you need to force them to through the legal system. They'll drag it out as long as they can. Most cases are around 7-18 months at the moment.

You'd think with so many lemon buybacks they'd put in effort to increase the quality of their product. Since they can't/won't yet it's not hurting them enough.

I'd wager the immense warranty repair costs they're currently dealing with is hurting their bottom line already. My 2-door alone was $10k in random parts I threw at it.

Oh it absolutely is but not by enough for them to care. Because if they actually cared they would be trying to better the product they make instead of just cut their cost to make up for it.

Add me to the list of Jeep owners waiting for a display replacement. Sadly, I work in the automotive component supply business and understand the issues with sub-tier suppliers, but the lack of transparency is what bothers me most. And do not get me started on the Jeep Customer Cares case managers. If my company was to shut an assembly line down at one of our customers, we would be charged thousands of dollars per minute the line is down. I am sure that the supplier of this display, probably in Asia or Mexico, is paying for their delinquency but yet here we wait with no recourse.
