While you are at publishing your monthly payment, why not publish your social security number, credit score, your address, other info that will help scammers............who would even come up with this question? stick to what oil to use, how many ducks you have, etc........

Jesus there's a lot of rich ass people on here throwing around $50K+ like it's nothing! Unless it's used and cheap, the depreciation from day one alone makes it a bad investment.

There's nothing wrong with financing a vehicle assuming you get a good interest rate. Even if I could buy it outright, I'd rather put the extra money into my 401K or a good performing ETF. You just have to be disciplined enough to actually put the 'extra' money to good use, not just spend it on dumb sh!t.

A very wealthy friend of the family told us never to pay cash for anything (unless you are trying to hide a tax event) if you can borrow money cheaper than the market. If you have time on your side, your yields on something as simple as the the S&P500 (10-15%/yr), will net you much larger returns then the interest rate on the loan.

Obviously we all need cars and it's not always about if it's a good investment, but if you can make that money work for you, why not?

not sure about "rich ass people on here throwing around $50K+ like it's nothing", but not everyone wants to owe.
(some religions and cultures also don't allow paying interest.)

more significant to this conversation, odds are good that many people are talking about payments because they want stuff they can't really afford to buy anyway. those people also aren't likely to be investing. (your rich friends strategy is great for people who are rich, but isn't applicable to most people who are working and only able to stay ahead of payments.)

but firstly, if someone "needs" a car, they shouldn't be buying a J**p.
vehicles are almost never an investment and J**ps would typically be some of the worst in that regard.

It took me awhile but I think I've finally got the hang of missionary position.

i financed mine, 12/24. Payment was $720.36. I would have waited but found the Jeep I was looking for at the price I was looking for. I had a few different coals in the fire and my gamble paid off and wrote a check to the finance company 4/25. I try to pay cash instead of finance, but thats not always possible.
