I'm fairly confident that someone named @Brad Hearing first introduced real estate via:
neat. here I thought it was an analogy then it was brought back later. Im not the kind of person to search back for dirt but ok.

ill own this and I stand by the statement. if you rent then someone can interfere anytime they want. how is this any different?

Just stating that it was an analogy that you introduced while stating that you did not introduce it. It wasn't dirt. It was land ;).

At least you owned up to it. That's saying a lot around here!

A truck backed into my right rear tail light and busted it out and I receive an e-mail that my light was out. (2024 Rubicon X). I’m not signed up for any connectivity.

I read that a foreign leader and country was on the sanction list, but purchased to Tesla cyber trucks and Tesla just turned them off remotely.
I highly doubt that the "leader" you're talking about actually purchased that Sybertruck. Most likely stole as a "war trophy" like everything else 😁

they just did with my OTA update, which is why im posting in the first place.
I get it, I hate Big Brother too. But I live in Realville, park the JL and drive the 3A ? Not to town, parking lots, or anywhere that might have cameras ? Take a hammer to this phone and all other devices and just use the sat phone for communication ? Cash only, no cards or checks. Find old used appliances, garage door openers and TV to replace the “Smart” ones ? No “smart” apps connected but are they truly not ? Turn off the electricity and rely solely on the off grid capable solar ? It can’t keep up with the AC’s in the summer and sometimes the sun don’t shine in the winter, and yeah, I pay extra for the old analog meters they have to come and read to not have “Smart” meters…. How far do you want to go to avoid.
Jeep Wrangler JL you WILL get the update, plebe! F23E2D85-15D6-4FD9-827A-99A510CC0030

Having worked in IT and attending RSA Conferences annually; the more real and immediate threat is the “Internet of Things” and the lack of proper safeguards build into the products.

Yes. Owning up to it is commendable any way you slice it.

I refuse to install any and all IoT devices. In my home. And not just because of their critical lack of security.

IIRC, one hot day in Denver this summer, the power company shut off AC units in 300K( +/-) houses using a “smart” thermostat. No thanks…

I just had an automatic OTA radio update on my 2024 JLUR last week, and now my speakers don’t work. Dealer was told by the factory engineers to replace the amp, and if that doesn’t work, then replace the radio too.
