Not just that. with that Idiot that runs UAW...More Automakers are moving to Mexico. VW has massive facilities in Mexico. Toyota preemptively has moved all Tacoma production to Mexico. Ram, Chevy, etc. have also setup shop south of the border.

The only way prices are coming down is if we stop buying. Cutting costs on the production side will not translate to lower MSRPs.

$50k a year in India might buy you the next Einstein though, and maybe he can figure out how to fit the Hurricane I6 in a JL?
But the turnover is higher than McDonalds over there.
Similar to Stellantis (Dutch headquarters) Shell, ING, Phillips, and even Heineken moved many US jobs to India in the early 2000's. at a far greater clip than most US companies.

Turnover is higher in India but there are regulations that prevent constant/short-term job hopping. No surprise outsourcing to India since a well paid employee is 1/4 the cost (or less) of a US employee. Most of my staff was outsourced to India in 2008. My current job, I have two onshore employees (one is Indian), my onshore boss is Indian and my remaining 32 staff members are in India.

Maybe prices would be lower if Jeep was willing to sacrifice build quality…. Oh wait….

Turnover in India is high for low-tier US outsource jobs. If you employ an engineer at $50k USD in India, you're effectively allowing them and their families to live like royalty, and there isn't turnover.

I agree this will have almost zero impact on what a Jeep sells for, but it will increase Stellantis' operating margin.

That's nice regulations that keep you locked into crappy jobs by law.

If you think JEEP prices are high go buy a Tesla I hear prices are crashing like it's FSD.

Tesla is most likely doing that to make buying a Tesla a no brainier for people looking for an BEV, buying a non Tesla BEV is risky business , especially one from the Big 3.

When Tesla brings out the Model 2 it would be even more difficult for car makers to sell EVs.

Watching the prices on the Model S Plaid....if it drops another 10K, I might pick it up as my daily driver.
