Shame on the rental outfit for renting you a overlander to ride the rockies.

Wine Mom, Hahaha. Gotta remember that. Instant picture pops up of the type. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It's almost like the Rubicon is the off-road trim and the Sahara is the look nice for the urban cowboy/ wine mom trim. Crazy...
After I posted this I realized I may have been trolled, well played sir.
Rubicon flexThe point of this post was.....?
I’ve got a small block V8 in my ‘79 K30. It’s a gutless pig putting out like 150 HP for 10mpg. It leaks from everywhere and the exhaust… But anyone can work on them! Ya, no shops around here will. They lose money they can make fast fixin a car they can hook to a computer to tell what parts to replace. The point is made though in the fact that this reality is a surprise. It's great that the 2.0l is proving to be a solid engine...but there are a lot of us who are not interested in being the ones who learn that first hand. We'll wait until small turbo motors in big vehicles are as commonplace and as old as small-block V8s are now.
Wheeling Moab, being able to hear the sound of rocks crunching and birds chirping over the slight hum of my 4xe.. was kinda cool.. till I was outa electrons and it was all turbo whine and 4 Low gears winding up.This argument over exhaust sound is funny. When it comes to exhaust note, it's either a V8 or it sounds bad.
The problem with the 2.0l turbo's noise has nothing to do with its exhaust anyway.
If you can't find a shop in your area willing to work on a carbureted SBC then you have got a lot of worthless shops in your area.I’ve got a small block V8 in my ‘79 K30.
