I have a few lists on my wish list. No matter how much stuff you have you always want, need more. Thanks mostly to this forum and seeing other rigs.

Santa is being good to my JL this year:
  1. Mopar steel front bumper and skid plate; arrived around Thanksgiving
  2. Mopar 2” lift - installed this week; super happy with it. Ended with 3 inches in lift
  3. YETI trackbar - en route; can’t wait
  4. Quadratec CJ Retro black alloy wheels - on backorder until mid-January
  5. 35-inch General Grabber ATX tires - waiting for the new wheels to arrive

So far have an LOD stubby (may put it on today)
Dometic Fridge

Hoping the stars align well enough to consider wheels and tires and maybe a small lift after next week.

Santa is indeed treating you well.

I know alloy is somewhat lighter, but I'd like to see these wheels in steel, per the originals (as Quadratec's ad copy acknowledges), and with a steel wheel price. The JL has a surplus of horsepower to offset the mild weight penalty.

Every pound my JL doesn’t out on, is one more pound I can put on!

For me, it is less about the effect weight has on engine power and more about retaining any semblance of handling competence.

My JL came from the factory with wheels and tires that weighed 25 lbs and 39 lbs, respectively. That’s a combined 64 lbs at every corner. The Quadratec wheels weigh 27 lbs and the 35-inch Generals I am eyeing weigh 67 lbs, for a combined 94 lbs. That is an extra 30 pounds at each corner, which is a significant increase in unsprung weight.

Steel wheels weigh anywhere between 35 and 40 lbs each, which would put each wheel + tire at 100+ lbs.

Also, if you check, you will see that the price of most steel wheels these days are pretty close to those of alloys. Popular steel wheels are now $120-150 each. The days of $70 steelies are gone.

Four of the nine steel wheels sold by Quadratec are $79.99 each. 🤔

Are their alloy wheels more expensive? Yes, considerably so.

I do agree with your concern regarding unsprung weight.

We'll ask Santa to also place an all-italics keyboard under your tree. It might save you some time in 2021. ;)

Funny guy!

Only their Tactik wheels are $80. Pretty much every other steelie costs $100 - $165. Which is nuts for steel wheels, IMO.

It’s probably due to the new tariffs.

Rigid 360 series 6" round LED white driving lights will be here on Monday, ordered from local dealer. Now just need to determine the best place on my Warn bumper to mount them...

Also ordered some additional JL Audio gear to go with stack I already have waiting for me to install...Another Stealthbox sub (this one for the driver side) and an HD750/1 to use as a dedicated sub amp. I will finally start my audio upgrade over the Christmas holiday and at least get the dash portion done-which will be the biggest PITA of the entire project!

May Everyone Have A Very Merry Christmas!

You are right! I need to start thinking about me! The Jeeps gotten LoD rear bumper/tire carrier, M.O.R.E. Hide a step and dead pedal, and a Sunrider top and I haven’t got shit.

🙄 I need to make a list for me now!
