I agree...and I don't agree.

I find it hilarious that people buy a Jeep, then complain incessantly that the Jeep they bought is...well...a Jeep. That said, I do not off-road, but I absolutely did not buy the wrong vehicle (nor were any of my previous Wranglers the wrong vehicle for me). I see nothing wrong with off-roading, in fact it looks like a lot of fun - but truth be told I've got enough expensive time-consuming hobbies as it is. I want a vehicle that I can drive sans doors and roof, and this fits the bill perfectly for me.
Nicely balanced statement that speaks to who you are and how you roll. Not everyone has to off-road, but they can still enjoy their Jeep if they accept the compromises that come with it. Two thumbs up, way up. 👍 👍

Fair enough I see it now. But I blame your thread for the forum crashing and glitching all day.
Okay, but hear me out... I just dropped this, then walked away for most of the day. So, not my fault. Right?

Just because a thing can be done... does not mean it must be done. I appreciate my Jeep's potential even if it is unrealized.

Personally, I find it weirder that someone would put any effort into caring what someone else does with their money.
Do those people "need" a Jeep? Do I? No, of course not.
Do the 93% of truck owners who have never towed or hauled anything requiring a truck need a truck? Also no
Anyone buying a used Jeep should be thankful most people don't actually wheel their Jeep.

Some of us don't like to play in the woods like we did as teens.
Some of us keep our vehicles nice and clean...on purpose mind you!
Some of us have multiple cars in the family so our Jeep is one of many.
Some of us have different hobbies than....... climbing rocks🤸‍♂️
I have a big backyard with deer, fox, racoons, wild turkeys all out my back window, the only thing I'm not doing is driving thru where they are at peace.

Lightly used Rubicons that have rarely been off-road make great used vehicles to buy. I just look at it as a farm system for those who want to have a good base to build from for the trails without forking over the $$ of a new Jeep.

Whether or not the vehicle goes off-road is meaningless to me. Complaining about the stiff ride, body roll, wandering, cracked windshields etc. drives me nuts. The level of expectation that all cars are created equal could potentially ruin this vehicle.

Unfortunately for the average buyer there is no pre-purchase means or methods for them to understand the unique features of the wrangler and their impact on driveability. As far as they know it’s just another car so why wouldn’t it drive just like every other car? It’s not like the dealers have a banner in their showroom that says “Wrangler, sure it drives like shit but you can park it on top of your neighbors Prius!”

JEEP should hire the OP to give out a written and road test for potential JEEP owners. 👈

I just realized, with this harness bar, I can't lean my seat back. Also, I'll never be able to install those Big Boy Seat Brackets.

I'm 6'5" tall...

This is me sitting up straight, with the seat all the way back...

😧 I didn't really think that one through.

Oh well, it's a Jeep thing, if you wanted to be comfy, you should have bought another vehicle!!
Like first questions is fucking why would you want a harness bar ... then I saw the poster lol

If I drove at the speed I preferred in anything other than off-road vehicles, I would be replacing suspension annually and having my wheels repaired monthly. and yes, I do live in a dmcrt controlled shthole (nyc)

Also if you don't drop your top at every opportunity, then you bought the wrong vehicle. I drop my top even for 5 minute drives to the store, then close my top, then go in the store for 2 minutes, then come back and drop my top again, then drive 5 minutes home just to close my top again. If you don't do this, then you bought the wrong vehicle.

Why bother putting it back up when you go in the store? I bet you lock your doors too.

yay…

I loves me some judgmental prick.

Yea people need to stop buying those trucks too cause pricing on them has gotten fucking dumb because of idiots that buy them as status symbols rather than tools.
