Nope. My understanding is if you have leather seats, they don't have it. The head rest on the center rear seat hits there when it's folded down.

My 22 Rubicon with leather has them .

Once you complete this does the chime go away forever?

Yes the chime stops, Only downfall rigs will still park lock if the doors are open. With the S/B inserts that goes away.

Of course you just compromised safety a bit. You are no longer using the end piece nut which holds the door in place. In the event of a collision the doors can come off.

Of course, I got tired of screwing the nuts back on and defaulted to only screwing the bottom ones. So I'm half safe.

This is true but it's just for soft top season so I'm half safe as well And you know what they say, Safety Third.
