The thing to realize is when the engine is running the dash shows smart alternator "charging" Voltage. So the higher the number, the more charging the battery needs. I've never seen anything above 14.6 on my JLU.I don't think I've ever seen a battery go much higher than 14.5v when running. What voltage would you consider acceptable when the jeep is running?
When my battery has a healthy charge, it seems to display in the 13s.
Again, I'm sure others have completely different experiences. This is from my 7 years of ownership.
