I’ve seen a number of posts about the plastic plug on the drivers side being a good spot to run wires through the firewall. If you have an automatic it’s perfect, if you have a manual that’s where your clutch lever comes through the firewall. I needed to run some wires for my tow harness to the brake pedal as I will be towing my JL behind my motor home. People have recommended pulling the plug out with pliers. Not necessary - I looked under the dash, found the plug and pushed on it with 2 fingers, popped right out. I didn’t like the idea of drilling a hole than slathering on silicone to waterproof it so I took a different approach. I picked up a package of diaphragm grommets at O’Reilly’s Auto. The center is 1/2” and requires a 5/8” hole to mount it. Wires poked through the center with no problem and the rubber stayed tight around the wires. No need for silicone and if I have to remove the wires or add more it’s no problem. Figured I would pass this along/

@Brew211

You JL is a manual shift so you will not find this point of entry / this grommet that is found on an automatic tranny JL.

There are other ways to get to the cab. Do a forum search for same.

Copy, thank you!
on the right side of the fire wall there is a gromet with a "nipple" on it, that is where i ran my wires for my compressor thru the fire wall. it is a pain in the ass but it worked. (my Jeep is a stick too)

This may be a silly question, but you had to drill a 5/8” hole in the plastic cover correct? Then insert the grommet?
