I have a nice set of Rubicon take-off wheels and want to mount snow tires for the winter on my 2022 JLU Rubicon. I know there's some debate over winter tire effectiveness vs the stock ATs, but I much prefer real winter tires.

That said, I'm a big Blizzak fan and plan to purchase the DM-V2 which does not come in the stock 285/70/17 size. I'd prefer a more narrow tire for the winter and the Blizzaks are available in:

245
255
265/70/17

Any issues with mounting the 255's or 265's on the stock Rubicon wheels?

Thanks-

Nope, no problem. Mount 'em up and drive on.

You guys wouldnt happen to know what the largest size winter tire is available would you? I was thinking of doing the same. Maybe a skinny 35"?

I run the Hakkapeliitta LT3s in 285/70R17. Excellent winter tire, huge improvement over AT tires. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't know what a winter tire is and thinks sliding is a normal part of winter driving (it's not). The Hakkas are as good or better than Blizzaks in performance but have longer lasting tread.

I’d get a set of take off rims and mount the snows to those. It’s going to cost at a minimum $25 / tire to takeoff your “summer” tires, mount your snows, and balance each tire. Then you repeat in the spring. Do that for 2-3 winters and you’re ahead of the game. If you’re really energetic buy yourself a nice jack from Harbor Fright and some Jack stands at do it at your leisure.

That's the idea. I'll have the snows mounted on my extra set of wheels and swap them over every fall/spring.

You can fit a Blizzak DMV2 safely on a wheel from 6.5 to 9.0 inches wide.

We have that size in stock, let us know if we can help.
