Any word on these things? I tried to order them from an online Mopar outfit and they refunded my money, saying there are none to be had, not even in the Mopar system. I also read in the new Jeep brochure that they are supposed to come with the JL. So where are they? They look like a very simple part, so I'm not sure what the hold-up might be. @JeepCares can you shed light on the status of these straps?
Hi DanW,
I can confirm that these are not available to order as of yet. I apologize as I know it's getting warmer and people are getting excited to drop the front windshields down. I do not have any specific information on when they will be released for purchase, but it is looking to be before summer.

Jeep has dropped the ball so hard with all of the screw ups for parts with the JLs. It's funny that they intentionally held the aftermarket at bay and for the first time denied giving them pre-production access so they could have products ready for launch. They did it so that they could beat the aftermarket to the punch with Mopar Accessories yet even something THAT SHOULD COME WITH THE F*CKING JEEP, they still can't deliver 3 months after it released. Jeep you suck and are a failure. Please for the love of god, folks, do NOT buy any accessories or products from Jeep. The Mopar lift should be enough of a reminder of why you shouldnt...

Some of their parts and accessories are outstanding. I don't think generalizations are a wise move.

Well- it’s mid June. No tie downs. Has anyone heard of any updates to when the world might see this elusive technological wonder?

When I talked to a Jeep rep a few weeks ago, they said that the part was discontinued and Jeep would not be producing them. He suggested trying bungie cords...

@JeepCares any word on this? I'd hate to see them abandon it. I have situations where I'd like to ride with that windshield down.

I ordered mine via 4Wheel Drive hardware on 5/9/2018. I inquired on 5/21 and the rep stated that they contacted the vendor (I Guess it was Mopar) and they said this part was on backorder until the beginning of August.

Hi offcamber and DanW,

We will be producing the windshield tie-downs. Their release is set for early 3rd quarter.

Well, the jl has produced a bunch of wtf moments (baffling color choices, one touch roof extended delays, back ordered soft tops etc) but this is honestly the most baffling. A $30 part that is completely basic, and that should come with a $50k+ jeep, not available until 6+ months after vehicle shipments? Wtf is going on over there?

it's not just the windshield tie downs, try looking for a basic cargo mat for the rear (buyer beware...cloth vs leather seats...gap hider not included with cloth seats, etc.)., or their new trail rail management system currently shipping with new jeeps (supposedly) but unavailable on the Mopar site. To me, it seems like they rushed the JL jeep to market before they could back up the most basic "hey look at what this new JL has over the JK" parts. I do not mean to offend anyone, but in my prior Navy days, we would call this a quintuplet abortion, in need of an exorcism.
