I CONSTANTLY get small rocks off the highway chipping my windshield. Seriously, it’s getting ridiculous. I understand the vertical difference of other cars vs Jeeps but there’s gotta be something out there to keep that to a minimum.

I avoid running too close to big trucks mostly. Only other option is don't drive on public roads.

I agree with what was said above and also maybe consider a windshield film like this: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...-windshield-protection-film-installed.112625/

Personally have no experience with them, but sounds like exactly what you're looking for.

there is a layered protective film you can get that helps other than that the only way to truly protect it is to not drive it.

It sucks, I have had multiple Jeeps and I just got used to it and if I get a chip get it filled as quickly as possible and wait to replace the windshield until I get a big crack or there are just too many chips. It wasn't as bad when I had my JKU's because I could afford no deductible on my comprehensive. Now with 2 college kids on my policy had to add a deductible to keep my insurance rates somewhat reasonable.

I am going in for my 2nd replacement in 5 months and that is with Gorilla glass. 1st one happened after a long day of off-roading and I was back on the pavement when a truck threw a rock and hit my. I was one of the lucky few that got Jeep to replace the Gorilla Glass under warranty and now here is am just a few months later and it has a crock the can't be repaired. Will get it replaced in a few weeks but going back to standard glass.

I don’t tailgate at all and stay in the right lane on highways which has a higher volume of traffic and I’d think that alone would keep the pavement clear of debris.

A lot of my damage has come from the next lane over. I assume the frequency is related to what's used to deal with snow / ice in your area.

Installed RacingOptics triple-layer film. Little tricky to get it on right, ended up with pro installer doing it. Has already survived 2 strong rock impacts, no damage. On my 3rd windshield…

We have full glass coverage on our insurance. Our record in a couple decades of Jeep ownership was three windshields in one year. We just figure one a year. More than pays for the insurance.

I have owned my Jeep since Sept of 22. I have already had two replacements. The Jeep has 16K miles on it. Hoping this one at least makes it til it is a year old. Getting tired of paying to re-tint it too.
