Ok so I have my Winch Disconnect (manual switch and solenoid redundant) located on the fender next to the battery, and now it has to be relocated to add my snorkel. Anyone have any good spots to move these to. I can make a simple mount, just not sure where to place them so they don't bump the hood/hood liner. Cant shove them down between the fender and battery as the solenoid is to fat. I was thinking hanging it from one of the bolts up by the cowl. Ill try to add some pics later but if anyone has any ideas on where they mounted.

In the trash can. If not right wt the battery it would still be the same redone everyone uses for installing them that it might might might give someone a zap in an accident which is super slim odds.

Attached pics. Yeah mounted where it’s at if there is a side impact it could very well still cause a crush/pinch. I think that’s where I think mounting it back close to the fire wall would be beneficial. In terms of the setup I could not find a similar setup anywhere. The solenoid is controlled by the aux switches and if it fails I can still get my lazy butt out and manually turn power on to the winch. But thinking about it now I did just have a real good idea to eliminate all of this and go straight to the damn battery.

Bottom picture is where I’m thinking of mounting.

My setup has both in parallel in case the solenoid fails. But thinking about it I’m gonna say screw it a go straight to the battery with a fuse. After thinking about it what’s the point of either. Still have to get out and pull your line and considering the winch has a power switch on the side. Fuse the circuit at the battery. Already found a fuse that will handle the inrush. But digging around and I’m not sure if it is true here in the state but everyone should be fusing it for insurance purposes.

Where did you find that switch though. I have another project that actually needs something similar style wise. Can’t quite make out the name on it.

Exactly where I was thinking of mounting. Have you had to replace it at all? The solenoid that is.
